Conversations with a Psychic #1

November 20, 2010

On this spiritual path that I follow I get to meet some unusual people, and to do some very peculiar things. As part of the development of my druidic powers I leave very few stones unturned, and many of the things that I had previously closed off (in my figurative Loopy Box) have been unpacked again and re-examined. Kal and I have introduced this term “Loopy Box” to define all the things we believe are beyond our current ability to accept. The phrase I most often hear myself say is,. “Well, I never thought I’d say that I agreed with that!” Let me introduce you to another item from my Loopy Box – the psychic.

My friend Michael has many talents in addition to be a likable and jolly chap. He’s a good cook, a competent dowser and valued healer, and also has the ability to read auras and receive information from The Otherworld. So, it was my absolute pleasure to spend time with Michael and a lady called Maddy, who we had both initially met at one of the dowsing courses at Gawsworth Hall in Cheshire earlier in the year. Since then Michael and Maddy had been meeting regularly. Now they included my wife and I in the conversations too, and I want to report some of the highlights of this particular afternoon’s conversations and experiences.

Illuminating stuff

During our conversations Michael revealed to me that my aura was an unusual colour – turquoise. He also remarked that my wife’s aura was light green. Finding this information out I went away to find out what it meant to have a turquoise aura and discovered this information:

“In the Aura turquoise has not been   common, it  may be seen around  Poets and Mystics,  indicates a person with a seeking mind who is interested in almost everything, some may specialize in research of some kind, usually altruistic ,  to benefit humanity as a whole  analytical, insightful, good  counselors.” (source:

It is also associated with the star sign Aquarius. This is a very apt description of me. I am an Aquarian by birth, and studied poetry at University. Now I might call myself mystically-inclined, and am very much a generalist. Recently I have begun to specialise in altruistic areas such as energy healing and earth healing.

I found this cool guidance for learning how to see auras, and I’m going to try it out:-

Seeing the Aura

This exercise is designed to see Aura for the first time and/or practice seeing Auras. Choosing good conditions is important: not only you see the Aura better, but also to gain a confidence about what you see.

  1. Situate the person in front of a very softly illuminated PLAIN WHITE background. A color background will change Aura colors, so you need additional knowledge about combining colors. Some combinations of background and Aura colors may cause misinterpretation problems.
  2. Choose ONE SPOT to look at. The middle of the forehead is VERY GOOD. This is a location of so called Brow Chakra or the Third Eye. In some cultures (India) they put a mark on a forehead. Such a mark in ancient times could mean the invitation to look and see the Aura.
  3. Look at this spot for 30 to 60 seconds or longer
  4. After 30 seconds analyze surroundings with your peripheral vision, while still looking at the same spot. Continuing the concentration is most important. Resist temptation to look around. You should see that the background nearby the person is brighter and has a DIFFERENT color than the background further away. This is your own perception of the Aura. The longer you concentrate, the better you will see it. Remember, concentration on one spot increases your sensitivity by accumulating the effect of the Aura vibration reaching your eyes.”

2012 and all that

We had a brief discussion about some concepts of the year 2012. Maddy and Michael were confident that the year would bring about a certain change in human consciousness. This is an idea that I have heard expressed many times in many forms before. I made my comment that I felt that the impending galactic alignment was probably more of an opportunity for aware people to make use of the energy available than an imposed global transformation, and I also introduced the guys to the work of Carl Johan Calleman and his theories on the nine-step evolution of consciousness.

If we all shout 'Snap!' we become enlightened

A month later I would read about the huge helix of unknown energy that had been detected at the centre of the galaxy – I wonder what that heralds? Here’s a link that that article – link.

I would refer you also to a Red Ice Radio interview with Barbara Hand Clow about similar subjects: BHC Interview. In that interview Barbara discusses her thoughts on the current position of human culture in relation to what she sees are the energetic changes taking place in the galaxy around us, and as they affect us on the approach to The Galactic Alignment.

Psychometry was a term that I was unfamiliar with until my meeting with Michael and Maddy. They introduced me to the idea of reading information from an object without any prior knowledge of its ownership or associations. I had heard of the idea before, but have only tried it once or twice and without much effort or success. On this day Michael passed me several objects.

The Flower In The Jar

The first object an ornate box that he called a “smoking jar”. He told me to relax (difficult with three pairs of eyes on you) and see what images came to mind. Instinctively I went to open the lid, but then stopped myself – that might be considered rude to go looking inside! I held the metal “jar” for a few minutes and eventually I saw a picture of an old man in a high-backed chair, stern-faced with a beard full of nicotine stains. He wore an old-style tweed suit and I reckoned he was quite unforgiving. I relayed this information to Michael and he confirmed that it was his grandfather’s possession, and that the man had been very judgmental. This seems to fit with my picture of a sort of judge’s chair and his stern face. The beard he couldn’t place, because he had no pictures of his grandfather with one, but I assured him that he did have one at some late stage in his life, if indeed that was who I saw.

Michael invited me to open the jar. Inside was a dried-up white flower head. I looked quizzical and he explained, “This flower is an apport.” More puzzled looks brought further explanation. The flower had appeared out of thin air when a spirit had been asked to prove its reality, and it did so by bringing the fallen flower from a remote location and making it drop into Michael’s lap from out of nowhere. What a strange tale! No wonder he had kept it.

The Gift from Tibet

Michael later passed me an object with some Tibetan or Indian-looking script patterning on it. It was rolled up in a cylinder and he asked me what I felt about this object. I didn’t need very long this time before impressions started to come through. “I feel a knot in my stomach!” I exclaimed, “As though I was meeting someone very important for the first time.” I paused to let more through. “I can smell a very strong aroma of incense.” I raised the cylinder to my nose – nothing – no smell! “Interesting…”said Michael cryptically, and I passed the item around, but no-one else could smell the incense except me! When he got the object back in his hands he opened and unfurled it. It was indeed from Tibet, and Michael revealed that it was a tapestry that was given to a friend of his on her visit to Tibet. She had met the Dalai Lama before his exile, and he had given this object to her, saying something like, “You have a mystic friend in England, and you must give this to him. He will know what to do with it.” Now I understood the feeling in my stomach and the smell of incense.

This experience showed me that psychometry is a valuable took that I must do more with to develop me reading capabilities. I have always expected that information would come through as visual, or audible data. Now I knew that feelings and smells were just as vital clues, and that the clues are often quite difficult to read anything concrete from. I began to understand how psychics worked now – and why it was easy to dismiss their information unless you had some context to it. Yet, I was very impressed with my first go, and especially because I had an audience too adding to the pressure.

Michael and Maddy’s conversations were often on the subject of healing or spirit rescue. At the time I listened intently and politely, but not with a feeling that I had much that I could or wanted to contribute to those discussions. I was a druid – nothing on my path had pointed me to any form of healing work yet, even though I had been told many many times by “sensitives” that I was a healer and would do healing work in my lifetime. Still I was ignoring that. I was a druid, and I would follow the druid path wherever it took me.

Three weeks later it took me down the path of healing! Of a sort. My task for the final part of this year is to learn about spirit rescue. Another entry formerly consigned to the Loopy Box, I’m afraid, but which emerged upon instruction from some higher intelligence! This is a form of energy healing that I wasn’t anticipating having to deal with, in fact had shied away from, almost swerved to avoid! Now I began to see how “the signs” had all been conspiring to bring me to the point where I would accept this task, and I have – I did – I do – I will. I will begin to learn to heal in whatever way I am asked to, beginning with spirits.

There was even more interesting stuff that happened at that meeting, but I will mention it another time, I’m sure. On my next meeting I will have some updates on my journey that I’m sure will interest the assembled party and I am looking forward to hearing their tales too. We all seem to be “at work” which makes for interesting conversations, whatever the spiritual quest we are all embarked upon.

Circling back to pick up where I left off.
