Caileach and the Elements – Spring Equinox 2014 Epilog

Fire Element

Fire Element

The quote, “Just when you thought it was safe to…” should be the tag line for Hedge Druid blog. In so many instances we have found that the end of a days sojourn hasn’t been. Although this (Lacy’s cave) was indeed the last site we would visit. It wasn’t the last experience of the day.

At the conclusion of my meeting with the ice-dragon I had asked whether there was more work to be done. The answer had been yes and so I had dowsed for the next place to stand. I know sounds like a boring question to ask, but that is the life of being energy aware. We go where the energies are most beneficial.

This time I was led out onto the river embankment and the cold, wet and cloudy late afternoon. I stood there a-shivering and a-shaking wondering what was left to do. When that old fakir Caileach edged into my consciousness. Seriously? I thought to myself. As has been noted throughout this blog, I have a truly strange and problematic relationship with this being. If we were Facebook friends it would be permanently on it’s complicated. Nevertheless, better a being you know where you stand with than one you don’t.

“A knight Excelled” She said with a sense of a smirk and delight.

I felt like a fly about to hit an invisible web but didn’t say (think) anything.

“And Dragon Bonded too” Was her next comment again with mirth in her voice.

There was a long pause as if she was waiting for me to say something I didn’t. I know sounds a bit petulant but I have history! And although I don’t consider my powers and hers in any way comparable. I want to be hanged for who I am, not what someone else has made of me.

“I have a quest for you, are you interested?” She asked and I would say that she definitely had a little bit of a challenging and mocking tone to her voice, as if she knew I would be both intrigued and hesitant. She was not wrong.

I sighed, If I was a cat, I would have kicked the bucket (9 times!) many years ago. I just can’t help it. curiosity will always get me. So I acquiesced – although silently.

“You have had some experience with the elements of late.” It wasn’t a question, so I didn’t answer. “Gather the four, Earth, Water, Fire and Air”

The order seemed specific to me and so I made a mental note, which she recognised me doing and smiled (of course I couldn’t see a face smiling, I sensed a smile).

“But, you must gather them for my day of power. That is important!”

And without a by your leave, she was gone, and at that very moment, my Energy-Self also un-merged from me too. And at that very moment, the Sun came out for the first time, and from impossible conditions and bathed me in sunlight. It suddenly came to me…the conclusive element, Fire!

I guess, I’d better suit up (as they say in the Marvel Universe) for another quest, I’ll call it the Elemental Quest. Seems appropriate.

Vocal chakra tuning
A technique I use to tune my chakra points with vowel sounds. I thought I'd discovered it myself, but here's someone else doing it too. Nothing new in this world!
