Tarot for the Year 2017 – The First Half

Tarot for the Year 2017 – The First Half

It has become a tradition (in my head) for me to do a draw of tarot cards in order to gain some foresight into the direction that my spiritual journey may take in the coming year. Each year I leave the decision regarding the tarot deck and the layout to Fate. Fate never lets me down. Whichever of my guides is operating as Fate seems to allow me some miraculous information. This year the deck is the “Druidcraft Tarot“. The layout follows The Wheel of the Year marking the eight energy high points, but in addition there are three central cards dealing with three aspects which emerged from intuition as pertinent queries:- What is the nature of my spirit guide? What is the guiding principle governing the year’s work? What will the outcome of the...

Tarot for the Year 2016

Tarot for the Year 2016

As has become a regular ritual I have done a tarot reading to give me some guidance as to some of the possible parameters for my spiritual questing for the coming year. I used the Camelot Oracle tarot cards again,. I felt that this would give me a a link to the past – a semblance of stability, similarity, and continuity. I am still in recovery from Kal’s demise, so in addition to the deck’s familiarity it gives a firm link with place by having a fixed layout for the cards to be placed upon. I felt l needed that fixed quality, that link with Albion, and the Earth. Here were the eight cards drawn for each of the Celtic points of the year, and the one to represent the characteristic of the year too. I was going to offer a provisional full...

Interpreting the Tarot for the Year 2015

Interpreting the Tarot for the Year 2015

At this quiet time of the year posts relating to outings are few and far between. So, in lieu of new work here’s the final part of my summary of the year. In this post I will make an attempt to interpret the tarot reading that I did at the start of 2015, and see how that relates to what actually happened during the year. Interpreting the Tarot for the Year 2015 The tarot for the year covered the eight significant yearly dates of Festivals, Equinoxes and Solstices. The draw was:- Imbolc – Bors at The Wells Bors is a signifier of the adventuring spirit which returns back home having achieved his aims, and being satisfied with that. Very much the epitome of Kal this year. Did some work with death-eating skills, got a dread feeling, and then visited...

Cards by Caileach

Cards by Caileach

When Caileach deals the Tarot you had better pay attention! It was the summer solstice of 2015 and I was at the Hill of Tara. Caileach had appeared and dealt these cards…the whole tale is told here. But what was their meaning? Here is my interpretation, with the help of Bridget of www.biddytarot.com. The Magician Here are some interesting aspects of the Magician card: The Magician is associated with the planet, Mercury – interesting because Mercury is in Gemini (for my birth sign) The number of the Magician is one, the number of beginnings. – which was one of things that came up as in the shattering of the spiral that Caileach did. A time in your life when you have the creative power and energy to create a new life cycle for yourself –...

Summer 2015 – P4 – Tara Celebrations

Summer 2015 – P4 – Tara Celebrations

Hill of Tara – County Louth, Ireland It was still the first day of our visit, but we had checked into the B&B in order to get freshened up and prepared for an evening at The Hill of Tara. We were staying in Blackrock – quite a way out from the main attractions, but very reachable in our hire car. The travel gave us thinking and preparation time. Talking of preparation – before I left that evening I decided to do a tarot reading for the events that might happen. In a bid to get one up on The Future I did some divination. Let’s call it preparation. I drew three tarot cards that would be my guidance for the events that were to come at Tara – one card for the Past, one for the Present and one for the Future: A Quick Reading At the...

Camelot Tarot 2015 – The Latter Half

Camelot Tarot 2015 – The Latter Half

In the second half of the reading I explore the cards that were drawn for me on my journey from Lammas to the Winter Solstice this coming year. Things were not at all what I was expecting, and I think that has good and bad aspects. Good because I like my assumptions and pre-conditioning to be upset every now and again, and bad because of the portent that the signs have offered me. Read on to see where the signs point in the second half of the year. Lammas – Amangons at The Green Chapel By the time that Summer is in its full green garment we reach the festival of Lammas. It is at this point that I encounter the archetype King Amangons. This figure represents a darkness – a despoiler of the powers of the virginal maiden Brigid (Bride). It is interesting...
