Bran reconciled at last

Bran reconciled at last

This has been a funny year. I’m not the only one to have said so – other friends have also mentioned that they have found it difficult to make progress this year. Loss, grief and illness. They set you back no matter what your beliefs. So it was that I found myself unable to prevent myself from going out, and feeling that I needed to go and work on my quest for this time of the year, which was “Find the bosom of the winds“. Only two issues with that: I had no idea what it was about, and there wasn’t a breath of wind on this stifling hot July day. Undeterred, with Kal‘s spirit of reckless adventure in my mind I set off following whatever direction I felt I should go in. Surely, I would be guided if it was the correct thing to be...

Reconfigurations and Repurcussions

Reconfigurations and Repurcussions

It was the first energetic thing that I could bring myself to do after Kal’s death. I knew what needed to be done, but I needed a week away to even begin to get enough space between the event and what I needed to find the strength to do. Energetically, shamanically, we had discussed the concept of clearing death energy many times. This was not the circumstance in which I ever intended to use such practices. Yet the fact remained. Kal’s energy needed to be released from the spot where he had died. Only I knew that. Only I knew how to do that. Only I cared that it was done. He would only have wanted me to be the one to do it. So I had to stiffen up the sinews and go back there. Back to the slopes of Dinas Bran in Llangollen. On the way it looked so...

The White, The Red and The Rose

The sky was blue, the sun was out, and the weather was warm. Was it Spring? Well, it was the beginning of March, but you could be mistaken for thinking it was at least a month later in the year. Like fledglings stretching their furry wings we roused ourselves to make for our favourite perch – Dinas Bran. As always Bran delivered. The evocative ruins lured us upwards until we stopped to consider our rightful path. Dowsing rods came out and rather unexpectedly we were both led by the same energetic path to reach the same entry point – and it was the normal entrance that 80% of tourists to the site must use to go in. For us that was unusual. I think it’s probably the first time we’ve been in that way, and the first time that we’ve both...

Bran’s quick healing

Bran’s quick healing

Finally we can get to the posts about things that happened after the Summer Solstice! Shortly after our return from Ireland we found an opportunity to go to Wales to visit one of our favourite sites – Dinas Bran. It was a really hot day, and so we climbed the steep hill very very slowly, yet still we were wringing wet with sweat when we reached the summit. Luckily, Dinas Bran always has a stiff breeze to cool you down – often when you don’t want it! Today, however, it was most welcome. The Death of Gwas You will remember that I had been told to kill off Gwas. Having agreed to do that several things began to come together to reinforce that decision. Firstly, my full time job came to an end! I had about a month’s notice in order to...

An evening with Bran

One of the best feelings in the world is the onset of Spring and Summer. Of course the world is awakening, but what is almost as important is that the evenings are getting lighter. Woo Hoo! Because of this and for no other purpose that I could divine. Gwas and I ventured forth to a nearby sacred place – which you should be very familiar with – Dinas Bran. An hours drive and a thirty minute climb had us atop this hill (mountain?) and seeking sacred knowledge and purpose. I wasn’t expectant, but was hopeful. So I asked my customary… Is there anything that I can do that would be of benefit to this place and or the beings inhabiting it? The answer was a disappointing no. I would have loved to give back in some way to Bran. It was a spirit of...
