Predictions for crop circles in 2012
I know it’s very early in the year to be talking about crop circles, but this post has been hanging around for ages and it seemed like a good idea to get it finished and out there now, so that our beloved readers could be thinking about the ideas and having a good laugh when the weather is cold and bleak! We do like to entertain and amuse as well as inform and mystify. Back in the beginning of August 2010 I made a prediction that the Summer of 2012 would see the end of crop circles as a phenomenon.
“Crop circles will stop appearing by 2013. The peak of their complexity will be the Summer Solstice of 2012.” (source: a guiding divinity)
Actually, the results I got were that 2012 would be the year of their cessation, but at the time I interpreted that as meaning that June 2012 would see their ultimate expression, and thus there would be no further non-man-made circles in the 2013 season.
This information was dowsed in the centre of a crop circle but at the time, at what felt like the height of crop circle phenomenon, it seemed like a wild and crazy prediction born of a dowsed result in which I couldn’t really place much credibility other than my own judgment of how good I was at dowsing. However, the result was in keeping with the wild and crazy information that we were getting about the way that crop circles were created (certainly the non man-made ones anyway) .
Having pretty much given up looking at crop circles (because I couldn’t decide what their use was, and I was completely put off by the idea of their potential creators) it was a sudden moment of inspiration that reminded me that I used to go and look at the crop circle formations avidly last year, but that this year I hadn’t even bothered to review them at all. Not once! And it was June already. The crop circles for this year would surely be at their absolute peak of the season now, so I should go and take a look at the gallery on Crop Circle Connector.
I wanted to back up my theory with some statistics showing that the 2011 season figures were quite different to previous years, but getting hold of this information is quite difficult these days. Crop circles have become a business, and if you want the figures you have to pay the cash to join the various circle sites that record these figures in their databases. All these database differ in terms of the numbers recorded for 2011 anyway, so I guess comparisons are ultimately quite futile. Suffice it to say that at least at the beginning of the year i was quite surprised at how slow the season got off to, and the distinct lack of quality in the circles recorded. Beyond that, many of the professional-looking circles that began to appear in June and July just looked faked anyway! But all of this is now opinion, and academic at that because I don’t have any evidence to state my case properly.
[UPDATE] Having listened to the Red Ice interview with Colin Andrews I feel somewhat more justified in my statements now. Here is what Colin said about the recent circles:-
“”I think the quality – or the lack of quality – in the last few years of many of the designs – it’s fairly obvious to most people that really were looking at this and being honest with themselves that most of these were being made by [the] people. I can tell you for certain, because of my information, yes they were!”
Speaking of the future of crop circles after 2012 he says: “I think we can predict something new coming here…there’s every reason to suspect there will be new phenomena.”
I don’t want to put too much emphasis on differentiating ‘real’ and ‘man-made’ circles because in terms of their impact upon our consciousness all crop cricles may have relevance, but personally I concentrate my efforts to understand the phenomenon by dealing with the unexplained circles.
What opinion does this leave me with concerning the 2011 crop circle season and the implications for my 2012 prediction?
- If all circles are created by humans then the good circle creators don’t seem to have been particularly motivated in 2011
- Some 2011 circles were obviously created by humans, and this is likely to continue because people now depend upon their appearance
- The ones that were given to us by non-human sources may have served their purpose after an important Midsummer 2012 message?
Watch with me as the 2012 season emerges this year. Let’s see if the quantity reduces from 2011 (52?) and if the complexity increases to a crescendo in mid-June, before the phenomenon of non-man-made circles disappears completely. Let’s keep meditating on their message and see what emerges this year – I think it’s going to be important somehow to our spiritual development. During the year I will be watching the developments closely and will try to add my opinions as we go along.
According to my dowsing, the number of real non-man-made crop circles to appear this year are:-
- APRIL – 2
- MAY – 7
- JUNE – 10
- JULY – 15
- AUGUST – 3
I also predict there will be a final message in the circles of August 2012. Predictions always make everyone involved look foolish, so I’ll be the first to say that those figures are impossible to prove one way or another! The interpretations of the messages are even harder. So, whether you visit some circles this year or not, enjoy the ‘final’ ‘true’ season!

UPDATE: Red Ice Creations web site have got an interview this month with Colin Andrews – a ‘founding father’ of crop circle research. I would recommend listening to at least the first hour. In the second hour (for subscribers) he goes on to talk about the 2012 season in particular.
November Druid News
In an attempt to appear well-read and topical I have gathereed together a series of news articles that have garnered my interest this month. They are on a wide range of topics, some environmental, some energy-related and some beyond those. Here are some stories that roused my interest this month:-
1. Wi-Fi is killing trees
Comment: Nothing riles me more than stories about the abuse of trees. This was bound to “push my buttons”. I think that our headlong leap into new technologies has always happened without proper consideration of the consequences – that in itself is one of the consequences of our Aquarian quest for The New. However, once we have identified a potential issue like this, surely we should be considering the wider effects on us too? Some dowsers have been raising this issue for a while in the health forums, but of course no-one takes dowsers seriously.
Here are some useful links on this topic:-
- Glastonbury’s reaction to being bombarded by wifi signals: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/3966373/Alternative-health-capital-turns-its-negative-energy-on-pioneering-wi-fi-system.html

2. We CAN predict the future, study shows
Comment: Some of us have known this for a long time. Those of us who have had experiences of time distortion already know that time is a mutable and flexible concept. This study is once again demonstrating that we have the everyday ability to warp time in order to sneak a peek at the near future. Those who communicate with entities who are outside of our normal scale of time will also know that time is an elastic concept which only becomes solified under common concensus. Here, at last, is some definitive scientific proof that will get swept far far underneath the carpet, and then trampled down for good measure. You heard it here, folks.
3. Giant Energy Structure at the centre of our Galaxy
http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/GLAST/news/new-structure.html
Comment: Is this a recognition of the emerging energy that will shape our consciousness in the next few years? Is it the light that will signify a transition into a new Age of Aquarius as it reaches us? Keep your antennae twitching, sensitive folk, this could be interesting!
4. Ball-bearing theory of Stonehenge creation
Comment: Balls being the operative word here. The article is pure speculation, but it’s a step up from the rolling logs theory. However, it only take a few seconds thought to imagine that it would have been one hell of a job for them to contain the spherical objects they used to prevent them from rolling awa out of the sides as the rocks were moved up and down slopes.
5. Druids alive and kicking and promoting Tory values on Anglesey
Comment: If he was truly a druid he’s be independent, not allied to any party. Cheeky beggar! Using the Druids’ good name for his own personal benefit. Grrr!

Tarot: another source of information
I rarely use Tarot Cards. That’s mainly because they are so damned spookily accurate! They make me nervous. There was a spell when Kal was using the cards regularly, for himself and for others, and he found the same. He told me how it was useful for obtaining the kind of information about a situation that couldn’t be obtained (or would take a very long time to narrow down) with dowsing. So, I gave it a go. I learned a single layout, and then I used a couple of reference books to interpret the cards. One word – accurate. Those of you who may have tried this will know what I mean. This is not your “Sun Sign Astrology” tabloid newspaper kind of accurate. This is the “are you reading my mind?” type of accurate.
Of course Tarot cards are symbols, symbols of some human psychology, and there are levels of interpretation required to make something meaningful come out of a reading. Yet, whenever I have done it, and I can count the number of times still on one hand, I have been flabbergasted, nay overwhelmed by the pertinence, the serendipity, the degree of coincidence, however you want to term it. It was spot on. Whether for me, or for someone else. I have been told that I “have the gift” with the cards. Well, so did Solitaire (Jane Seymour) in the James Bond film “Live and Let Die” and look what happened to her! (Actually, what did happen to her, I can’t remember….?)
Why Druids should use Tarot
Good question. Sounds like a statement but it’s also a question – why should druids use Tarot, or any method of divination? Well, the druid revivalist culture seems to purport that there is some historical precedence for a link between forms of augury or divination and the druid class. The Romans (and where would we be without the Romans, with their aqueducts, laws, sewage systems….etc) included instances in their reports of Britain about the scrying and divining abilities of the druids.
Don’t let history (even if it was dubious political history) be your only guide, however. There are other sound reasons to adopt a form of divination. Is dowsing not a form of scrying, of obtaining knowledge from a gnostic source, that can easily be turned towards divination tasks too? Indeed it can. The humble dowsing rod can be used for many purposes, but the further away from dowsing in connection with the land the less credible the results feel to me. This may be a personal thing, however, because I admit to having used dowsing for divination, even if the results have always seemed less reliable and more likely to change. But then, that’s the future for you – always changing!
A personal augury system
One of the skills that ancient historians attributed to the Vates of the Druid class was the ability to divine the future from a number of unusual sources. One of the sources that doesn’t involve disembowelment and which would therefore be considered to be relatively acceptable to the modern druid is bird augury – acquiring knowledge from the observation of the flight patterns of birds. Some modern druids take this system a little further, reading signs of the future flow of the universe from the historical symbolism inherent in the type of bird. A good example of this is a recent OBOD seminar which can be read here.
I have noticed that I am beginning to recognise the interventions of birds, especially when I look to them for direction or advice on how to progress on my path. Whilst reading Jaq D Hawkins‘ book “Spirits of the Air” I came to realise that I could categorise the types of interventions and characterise each, in terms of what it signified or portended for me. Of course, one remembers the times when the event subsequently took place, or the right outcome happened – but then, that’s the trick of birdwatching!
So far I have identified relatively few birds that seem particularly significant to me. The wood pigeon‘s call reminds me of a time when I came across a tramp sleeping in some woods in the grounds of a large stately home. I don’t think I’ll ever forget his look of sad discomfort and the feelings of helplessness and pity on my part. The tramp’s discomfort was a mirror opposite of my own feelings of comfort and security in those woods, or in fact, these days, any woods. For me, then, the wood pigeon’s call signifies COMFORT. It makes me smile when I hear it’s trill. It’s also strangely hypnotic for me. Often I am lulled by the continuous warble, and when I imitate the sound in forests it’s like the forest enjoys the fun of my attempts, and the mood lightens even in the densest depths.
We are almost saturated with media renditions of the common crow. They are prevalent in most sinister contexts, from sound effects to super heroes. For me the crow has come to symbolise KINSHIP. Generally, if a crow makes its presence known when I am scrying for guidance then I know that the thoughts of others are with me, and that I can tap into their wisdom and advice concerning directions in life. They help me make decisions, although the final say is always mine to have. The crow is also significant to Kal. Usually when I see a lone crow land near to me and look at me I know that this is a sign related to Kal.
Song birds as a whole seem to symbolise my family. That’s probably because I haven’t yet trained myself to differentiate their intricate identities. Nevertheless, when I hear their song my thoughts are tuned into my family. The appearance of this type of bird will alert me to imminent family contact.
Finally, there are birds of prey. Seeing one of these is always a special event, but their frequent appearance at moments when I am strongly connected to nature is uncanny. It is far too frequent for me now to think of it as anything less than a handshake, a sure sign, and thus birds of prey signify TRUST. I always feel immensely privileged and trusted when I am granted a meeting with these graceful creatures. Their majesty exudes from them, and they make ideal avatars for nature’s subtle assent. I also feel like I am within their protective circle when they cross my path, and I know they show me that I am on the right path with my actions.
Here’s is a summary of the characteristics I have been able to associate with some birds:-
- Wood pigeon or Dove – comfort, companionship, direction of flight as indicator of event or place
- Crow – friendship, group flight direction indicates path of a decision
- Birds of Prey - magic, druidry, spirit of Merlin, right path, protection, apprenticeship
