Castleruddery: The Ash Staff and the May Trees

Castleruddery Embanked Stone Circle – Thursday 27th May

Ruddy hell – it’s Castleruddery! Now that we had the Active10 GPS unit loaded with the correct level of detailed map information finding Castleruddery [map] was not a problem. In fact, again, it turned out to be not far from the main N81 road and the Piper’s Stones that we had just visited – a short jaunt up a small hill. The day was warming up now – the gaps between the clouds were widening like a flock of tired geese unable to keep their tight formation, and this allowed us to bathe in sunlight for long and lingering moments. I thanked my wife aloud for the GPS unit which saved us so much time once we worked it out. A “godsend” really, and if you’re thinking of travelling a similar path to ours in Ireland then you have two choices: either stick to the main signposted sites, or buy a really good map or GPS system! One could waste a lot of time in search of errant sites on high level maps.

Stunning setting for a small circle

We read the information sign briefly before approaching the site. Apparently Castleruddery is quite a rare kind of site – one which has an embanked earthwork ridge surrounding the stones. Despite being close to a number of working quarries whose earth-shuddering roar and rumbling can be heard constantly in the background, the site itself is very picturesque and especially beautiful in May due to the five hawthorn trees being in bloom. I was very struck by it. However, you may notice in the photos that AGAIN there are pylons going right over this site. I thought the Irish cared about their history? Please, people, don’t place electricity pylons over your sacred sites – it’s like putting a toilet over your water supply!

As I approached it, instinctively walking around to the right-hand side in order to enter what I felt to be the ‘correct’ entrance for a moon-aligned person such as myself, a strange feeling came over me. I felt like I owned the site! I was ‘boss’ here. I was in control of what happened. It was MY site in a strange and long-forgotten genealogy that I could neither reason or fathom. Nevertheless I was instantly comfortable and at ease, striding into the site and looking around to assess the situation (whatever that might have been). This was an unusual feeling considering that I am usually humbled and in awe of such places.

Usual helpful info about Castleruddery

As usual, one of the first things that Kal did was to determine whether there was any energy work required at the site, and whether it should be done by himself or by me. Predictably it was me. We determined that the overhead pylons that ran over one edge of the site had weakened the circle’s energies substantially. It felt to me like the trees that ringed the site were asleep, numbed into a torpor by the continuous drip of the crackling electricity passing through one edge.

How to Heal Electrical Interference

A rather pompous little title to this section, but that is in effect what I managed to do with the following actions. You may be able to do something similar at other sites where you determine such interference from electricity pylons is interfering with the normal function of the site. Up to you. I chose three large rose quartz crystals to assist me with the task of blocking and re-directing the subtle field created by the passing electricity lines. I placed them in a triangle shape at the affected side of the circle and then sat under one of the May Trees that dowsed as being a useful power centre for this work, and to which I was in a compatible alignment. There were five May Trees all around the embankment, and a stunted old ash tree too.

A helpful May Tree at Castleruddery stone circle

As I sat under the tree, gently dropping into a trance-like state of mind, my staff was yearning to be elsewhere. I could feel it mentally tugging at me to be somewhere else. Cheek! Did I feel slighted? No, of course not. There must be some purpose for it to be elsewhere, so I looked around gently waiting for my head to “feel” the right place for the staff to be. My head stopped turning at the stunted old ash tree on the embanked ring of the circle. I stood up and took the staff to the tree where, to my surprise, I found a hole where a branch used to be that perfectly fitted my ash staff! I placed it there and returned to my centre under the May Tree.

When I sat back down under the tree I felt much ‘better’…er..how can I describe it? I felt empowered again, ‘in charge’, and I used this feeling to good purpose. I began to imagine the movement of energies around the site in an anti-clockwise direction. I felt like there was a circulation of energy going clockwise, in the male direction, but that the female direction was ‘dormant’. I pushed the energy around using my own impetus, and once it was happily circling away under its own momentum (!) I began to enlist the help of the ring of trees to perpetuate the movement for me. As the energy flowed through and past them I felt the trees getting involved and taking over from my own movement of the imaginary circling energy field.

With my staff now propped up inside the ash tree, and the two setting up a circuit of drawing in and feeding out healing energies (for that is what my staff has been filled with whenever I get the chance to re-charge it), I began to draw a stream of healing energy from the ash tree and to add this positive stream into the circling energies being sustained now by the May trees. In my mind the healing stream was a different colour – a white stream – glowing and differentiated from the mundane circulatory energy forms. As the healing stream reached the first rose quartz crystal’s location I envisaged it flowing to the crystal, and then linking the three triangularly-positioned crystals, like blood coursing across a pointed arrow’s head. The crystals seemed to respond to the idea, and glowed in my mind, re-enforcing the shape and the path down which the healing white energy was now directed. Then the energy re-joined the main flow.

The final touch was to imagine the white flow picking up and transporting the electrical energy from the pylons, and then directing it down the point of the arrowhead, to let the energy flow out into the field beyond, dissipating into the earth rather than accumulating across the stone circle. I finalised the flow’s momentum in both directions, ensuring that both male and female flows made use of the ash tree’s white healing energy to transport the negative electrical field and let it flow away harmlessly into the environs. Moments later I was on my feet and had no need to dowse as to the effectiveness of this task – it was so, I knew. That confidence again at this circle – where did this come from, and why at this place in particular? Perhaps the trees, I wondered as I went off to see what Kal had been doing.

Castleruddery's healing ash tree

Kal had been lazing around in the late afternoon sun, thinking about this and that, doing a little bit of dowsing, and some stuff that he will talk about in his own good time.Little did I know as we walked back to the car and hopped over the stile that I had left something precious behind. Oh yes, I had indeed left my beautiful ash staff propped up against the old ash tree within the circle, and it would be the next day before Kal asked where it was, causing me to practically have a heart attack when I realised! How could I forget it? How could I not realise it was missing? Well, stranger things were to happen than that once we went to retrieve it, but that’s all to come.

For now we headed up past Dublin to reach the area around The Boyne Valley where our hotel was located – the delightful Annesbrook Hotel near Duleek. Our only thoughts now were of getting settled in and wondering what we might do next. As it happened, we couldn’t resist one of the special places nearby once we arrived. No stopping us, I can tell you!

Review of the Year 2009 – Part 6: Esoteric learning

Section 6 : Esoteric learning

Originally I called this section ‘Miscellaneous’ but on reading back through it again I thought that moniker did it a dis-service, because the information in here is really more about various pieces of esoteric learning that I have come across in the last year. Each piece is a piece of a larger puzzle. Each piece offers a tiny glimpse of this larger picture that I recognise now as Nature.

Many of the topics I had dismissed long ago when I had first looked at them in my youth. Coming back to them in later years, with more knowledge, more access to knowledge, and greater resources available to me, I have found that most of the topics have some element of value to me. I am always aware, however, that each subject in itself could consume a person and drive them to distraction, so I take their practical essence, learn some basic techniques or practice, then leave the wilder and wider areas to those who wish to become absorbed by them. To me they are all pieces of a larger puzzle.

6-1. Crop circles: Definitely something odd about them. Created using earth energies, and designed by some other unknown motivational force which seems to be external to the Earth (‘extra-terrestrial’ being in the sense of some intelligence that is not born of this planet, whatever that may be). I participated in some way in the triggering of the creation of a crop circle’s formation somehow when I passed by the place where one would shortly come to be produced. The site was in between two established earth energy sites on a ley line that I had visited that same day. Crop circles patterns are made to trigger a revelation in human consciousness, Whether this be on an individual or a more global basis is as yet unknown.

Knighton Hill crop circle

6-2. Tarot cards: I tried the tarot cards again properly this year, and under the guidance of Kal, who had learned them thoroughly. What I was surprised to learn was that they are a useful means of obtaining more information about the qualities and intentions of the sentient energies that we encounter. They are not, as we originally thought, the product of a deranged imagination. As one might expect they also are capable of reflecting one’s own psychology very well too, and have been a valuable tool for self-analysis. However, I use them sparingly, and am quite appalled sometimes by their accuracy. I started using a Celtic Cross formation, but went on to devise my own layouts for the cards, as befitted the situation I was asking about. I now exclusively use the Druidcraft Tarot from Stephanie & Philip Carr-Gomm, only because the symbols make sense to me.

Druidcraft Tarot

6-3. Salute of the Sun: Both Kal and I have observed separately and together a phenomenon that we call “The Salute of the Sun”. This refers to the sun coming out when we do something that progresses us along our spiritual path. For example, we may be visiting a stone circle on a cloudy dull day, but the moment we make our connection with Nature during meditation, and then ask a question whose answer indicates a new direction or an answer that will help us know more about a subject, then we have noticed that the Sun comes out from impossible angles to shine upon us. This has happened so often now that we can no longer simply call it coincidence. As we have trained ourselves to recognise significant signs, we feel this is the most significant, as it is never “looked for”, but always makes us feel reassured, and we smile to ourselves.

6-4. Intuition: Following intuition has guided us very well this year. There is little point in trying to intellectualise this. Something that started out as something to try has become something of a waymarker on our spiritual path. If we follow intuition it guides us well. If we ignore it then we have to work much harder to achieve things. If we follow it, new opportunities appear – if we ignore it they close off. Simple as that.

6-5. Sacred Geometry: Gardens and building designed by noted Freemasons contain elements of sacred number and geometry that enhance the energetic potential of their sites. They encode these principles and retain the ability to attract people, power, good fortune and wealth. This is the art of Feng Shui in action. This has informed us that there was a knowledge of the power of place and energy in the Western Mystery Tradition as well as the Eastern, and that it was highly active until quite recently, in the 20th Century, when these principles were seemingly ignored and “sick” buildings began to be built.

6-6. The Shining Ones: Whoever the Shining Ones were their principles of geometry and sacred site building are inherent in the design of ancient sites. When we dowse about the influence of this little-known group of humans upon the design of ancient sites it always comes back that their principles were encoded in the designs, but that they were not personally or directly involved in the building of most of the ‘provincial’ sites. We still have to check whether they were involved in the building of the major sites, such as Stonehenge. Still a mystery!

Bringers of Esoteric Knowledge

6-7. Healing With Water: Hydrotherapy has less to do with the mineral qualities of water, than with the energy generated from its source, the amount of light it is subjected to, and its movement. This concurs with my research of Viktor Schauberger’s work, as he notes that the movement of the water is paramount in determining its qualities. The amount of radiant energy that the water consumes seems also to be highly relevant – the sunlight and moonlight appears to affect the healing qualities of water greatly.

6-8. Orbs:  I never gave Orbs a second thought until I photographed a few accidentally. They keep being photographed on power centres in sacred sites. We don’t know what relevance they have right now, but we will have to do some more research into this topic. They cannot simply be dismissed as specks of dust, or the reflections of light on the camera lens. I took two identical pictures a second apart (guided by intuition) of the chamber inside West Kennett Long Barrow in identical conditions. One has no Orb, the other shows one quite clearly! This, I cannot explain.

Note the orb positioned above the feather at the back

6-9. Animal interest: Rather annoyingly cows are over-actively interested in dowsing, for some reason. This has disrupted our dowsing trips on a few occasions because if you let them they’ll come right over and actively interfere with the dowsing process, blocking your path, chasing you away, nudging your arms. It’s quite strange! What DO they think they’re doing?

6-10. Sound and colour frequency: At Long Meg stone circle we proved to ourselves that it is possible to correlate sound frequencies with the chakra rainbow spectrum of frequencies, thus demonstrating to us a correspondence between light and sound frequencies. Interesting, but has led us nowhere else yet.

6-11, Crystals: As well as being able to transform energy from the earth into a subtle energetic form (possibly via the action of water), they also have the power to concentrate that energy and store it. This makes crystals almost indispensable when working with subtle earth and radiant energies. I intend to study this further to try to describe this quality of crystals in a much more scientific way, but for now I merely want to point these qualities out, as this is the truly important information.

Review of the Year – 2009 : Part 2 – Dowsing and Earth Energies

Section 2. Dowsing and Earth Energies

A lot of work was done by Kal in particular this year relating to the modification of energy centres within houses. Some people call this “house dowsing” or “healing sick houses”. It relates to a concept called “geopathic stress”, but we have found that this “stress” has more causes than simply a water course running under the house. There was a fantastic checklist produced by a British Society of Dowsers member in the December issue of the group’s quarterly magazine ‘Dowsing Today’, which lists these causes, and I will post more on that soon, because I think the information bears repeating and distributing.

I was lucky enough to spend a day at Carnac in France this summer. It was a most glorious day and highly productive, but I absolutely must go back to spend longer there. I feel there is more to be learned still from this massive and impressive site. Other interesting sites this year include: Druid’s Circle above Penmaenmawr; also Nine Stones Close and Nine Ladies stone circles in Derbyshire. I will publish a full list of sites as one of the summary posts in this series.

Menec, Carnac (1)

Here are some of things we learned about dowsing and earth energies this year:-

2-1. House dowsing:

  • We can dowse houses accurately, either locally or remotely
  • We can either send and receive energy to specific points in the house, providing the house has not been “sealed off” and permission is given
  • We can modify the energy formations on site
  • Crystals can be used to repair this energetic state, and to change unhelpful or misaligned energies into helpful and aligned ones
  • Plants can be asked to contribute to this
  • The beneficial effects take some time – depending on how far the energy has to convert from harmful to beneficial, this can take from hours to weeks to achieve. Also dependent upon the amount of new positive input into the formation(s).
  • The Moon or Sun can also contribute to the energetic change, acting as a catalyst for the change, and also providing either male or female energetic input.

2-2. Flat recumbent stones attract female energy (moon), whilst pointed stones attract male energy (sun). We don’t yet know which elements of a site attract star or planetary energies, but we know they are present at sites, especially stone circles.

2-3. Kal found that certain geologically faulted locations with water running through them can pin energy to a place.

2-4. Ironwork and iconography (in the case of stones in Brittany I found that it was Christian crosses) can restrain the energy of a standing stone, reducing its aura (field of effect).

st-duzec-stone-7

2-5. Earth energy spirals are created from sacred geometrical principles and number. Even manifestations created by us have the same properties. Of particular significance has been the discovery that stone circles are based upon sacred geometry in their design. For exmaple, Moel-Ty-Uchaf stone circle in North Wales is based upon a pentacle,or five-sided shape. I have found that this is linked to specific “deities”, but more importantly, that these deities are actually one of the planets. The pentacle therefore is associated with Venus, which itself describes a five-sided geometrical figure around the earth in its annual travel.

2-6. Power centres are the central point of two cones of energy- one going up into the air, the other going down into the ground. Also confirmed by Viktor Schauberger’s research.

2-7. Avenues or rows of standing stones have male and female energies intertwining, and travelling the length of the line of a stone rows of standing stones.

2-8Tumuli can provide a terminus pointfor energy to sink back into the earth. As an example, I found this double mound pictured below was a terminus point for the energy running through the Kermario avenues of standing stones at Carnac in France.

Kermario, Carnac (26)

2-9. Cup-marked stones often provide a rising point, a focal point or source of earth energies entering into sacred sites. Some standing stones that are cup-marked are a map of the energy power centres nearby.

2-10. “Hand spread” patterns of energy fields can be dowsed on the side of circles where energy is being dispersed out of the area. They indicate areas of high fertility energy.

2-11. Many neutral alignment leys travel the length and breadth of lands, and have accumulated sacred sites and churches along them. I suggest this is similar to the geometirc patterns that many dowsers and researchers have discovered overlaying the British Isles, and some say, the whole of Earth (cf. John Michell)

2-12. “Martin”, “Margaret” and “Anne” are other synonyms for the male and female energy lines surrounding national leylines, as well as the better-known “Michael” and “Mary” energies. This year I traced what I call The St.Martin Line running from South-West England through France and into Italy.

These findings should be viewed in the context of the complementary section coming soon on our findings at Ancient Sites. I hope next year to concentrate on water dowsing, or rather, dowsing the energetic properties of water, sap and blood. Next in the series – Part 3 – I will be summarising our findings relating to tree energies, elemental spirits and death energy.

The Rollright Stones – Part 2: The King’s Men and the Whispering Knights

This post follows on from the first part of the Rollright Stones complex, which can be found here. In the previous post I had been dowsing arounnd the King Stone. I had identified a female line that followed the course of the path that leads up to the stone, and now I was following it back to see whether it connected to the King’s Men stone circle, as it appeared to if I followed the line of sight.

I wandered across the road following the zig-zag motion of the female energy line, which got decreasingly erratic as is moved towards the King’s Men circle. The rods showed me that the line went into the northern end of the circle, so, as I couldn’t follow it directly through the fence and hawthorn trees, I opted to pick it up again from the other side. So I made my way into the signposted stone circle area, where I was accosted my a modern day highwayman! Stand and deliver! He wanted a whole engligh pound sterling from me, which I duly obliged him.

As it turned out, a pound was a cheap price to pay for some priceless dowsing tips from the old man. We started off on the wrong foot as he challenged my tools of the trade for being un-sheathed. His, by comparison, were contained in copper handles, but looked too thin and wiry to be of any use in a stiff breeze. I retorted that there were no rules regulating this dowsing lark, and that my opinion was different to his – I liked to feel the response of the rods as they turned so that I could gauge the strength of the reaction, and feel for whether it was a true response or caused by an external factor like the wind. This didn’t go down well – a relative youngster debating with a seasoned pro – and he went on to present his credentials: 50 years dowsing and a former member of the BSD (“too many silly people with their own pet theories“). Oh dear, I didn’t let on that I might be one of those very people whom he detested – an independent thinker with my own ideas. I did the polite thing and appeared impressed, but in my experience longevity is not a good indicator of ability.

Kings Men circle - Eastern entrance

We discussed the nature of the site, and he swung into action with his own theories on “positive” and “negative”, or helpful and harmful energies. He was a healer who had spent a lot of time at this circle, which he claimed had healing properties because it was composed of limestone, which was porous, and therefore capable of absorbing harmful energies and purifying them. This he opposed to granite sites, which he categorised as generally harmful and the cause of illness. “Ah, geopathic stress” – I responded. I mentioned that I wasn’t much into healing, but that I was interested in understanding the workings of the site’s energies. “Well, you’ll find lots of energies here.” he stated emphatically. He wasn’t wrong.

Later, as I dowsed, I was treated to both a display of his “twirling rods” as they helicoptered and whirred around in the centre of the circle, and then to a display of his healing capabilities as he wobbled a lady’s head around until she told him she felt better. I’m not going to say anything about either display, as I’m a mere youngster who understands nothing, and have much to learn yet.

Kings Men circle - healing session

The Nemeton’s Edge

I started my own investigations by looking for an aura, or nemeton for the circle. I got a boundary response from the rods about 25 feet outside the stones on the south side (the site is approached from the south-east end). I followed this male edge line clockwise around the site and found that it narrowed up to the stones themselves at the western side before increasing again to about 10 feet wide coming back around the northern edge. By the time the nemeton was back at the south side it was back out to 25 feet wide.

Cross Leys and Entrances

Two neutral alignment leys traversed the site – one running North-South and the other travelling East to West. At the point where the east-west ley line hit the western edge of the circle, at the nemeton’s thinnest point, I found an entrance to the circle. I later discovered that there were two entrances to the circle – one for lunar-aligned people, and another for solar-aligned people. The western entrance was for those people aligned to the moon’s energies, whilst the more “famous” southern entrance was that discovered by archaeologists and other dowsers, many of whom must have been solar-aligned people, I reckon.

As a reminder, you’ll know if you’re solar or lunar aligned from standing in the power centre that is either male or female. If you stand on one that is not aligned to your energy field (and it doesn’t matter if you’re male or female as to whether you’re solar or lunar aligned) then you’ll feel a certain discomfort after a while, such as a tense head, even a headache, feelings of queasiness or a tight stomach, or more generally just an inclination to move away from that place. Luckily, most of us intuitively go to stand on places to which we are aligned. Sensible us!

Rollrights - southern entrance

Central healing spirals

After having seen the old gentleman doing his twirly rods show for tourists I decided to take a look at the centre point. I firstly dowsed for a male energy and found a spiral starting some six feet out from the brown bare patch of earth that marked the middle. A tight spiral (unusual) of male energy spiralled densely-packed lines into the centre, but the outer edges didn’t go anywhere – this spiral was self-contained. Again, quite an unusual finding.

Next I dowsed for any female energy, and found a much looser spiral going anti-clockwise and overlaid on top of the male energy spiral. This female spiral was not quite so tightly-wound (again, quite unusual), but its terminus point was outside of the circle, as the energy of the third spiral snaked off through the western entrance and into the trees and the setting sun.

In my experience a combined male and female energy, in addition to the crossing of the two ley lines, would form a powerful positive energy formation, and this seemed to be what the old man was demonstrating with his healing and twirling displays. As he looked on I credited him with choosing the perfect spot to perform with energy work, to which he winked knowingly.

As I dowsed for the suitability of the site to various purposes the only strong response was to “healing”. Again, it looked like the old man was right to say that the limestone circle was suited to healing and purification. Equally, despite his idea that granite-based rocks generate “bad” energy, I was certain from my own findings that granite stone circles are suited to transformation of consciousness. But he didn’t look like he cared for that kind of thing, so I kept it to myself.

Rollright Stones - Western Entrance

Western entrance to the right of the stones

Male and female stone balance

I decided next to dowse each individual stone to find out how many were male and how many were female. The general outcome was that there were two banks of female stones consisting of at least two sets of 5-8 stones at the western and eastern points. The northern and southern edges were much more complicated, alternating frequently between small groups of male then female stones, sometimes even single stones going M-F-M-F. There were, however, three banks of male stones consisting of at least 5 stones in the south-western edge, the north-western edge and the eastern edge. All in all the number of male or female stones seemed well balanced, and this was certainly how the site felt.

‘Hairy’ stones

Each stone has an energy spiral coming out of its exterior face, and a short spiral going around the base of the stone. Female spirals are anti-clockwise (although they start off circling clockwise around the stone before turning back on themselves outside the circle to form an anti-clockwise spiral). Male stones do the opposite, but with slightly less tight spirals (fewer turns). We have found this at many other sites like Gors Fawr and Nine Ladies to name but two where we have looked for it.

Rollright Stones - view south

The Southern View

The King Stone connection

I found the female line from the King Stone over the road coming in at the north-eastern edge of the circle. This line terminated at a female spiral at the northern end of the circle. However, there were four other female centres connected to this line, and they appeared all around the western edge of the circle, going from the north to the south, and including my own power centre. In all, five female power centre spirals connected to each other on the western side of the circle.

This was somewhat mirrored by the two male power centres I found that were connected to some circle stones on the eastern side of the circle. Starting at the eastern edge a male energy line moved in and out of the stones, sometimes circling them, to eventually terminate at a spiral in the south-eastern edge inside the circle.

Both sets of male and female connected centres had energy flows that were bi-directional – they flowed back and forth between the first and last power centres, and presumably back to the King Stone in the case of the female lines. The male centres were again, like the central spiral, a self-contained energy system.

Kings Men circle - Rollright (4)

Staff marking my power centre

Finally I asked a series of questions that I have asked at other sites recently. They were:-

  1. Is the site still capable of performing its original function? - NO.
  2. Is the site still energetically active? - YES.
  3. Can the site be activated, or when is it best to activate it? – Activated by human activity at Samhain (Oct/Nov).
  4. Is the purpose of the site education, revelation, healing, transformation, communication, purification or some other purpose? –  HEALING, PURIFICATION.
  5. Does the site need restoring, healing or balancing? – NO.
  6. Is a genius loci present at the site? – YES, a female energy.
  7. Does the site respond to human interaction, the position of the sun, moon, or stars? – HUMANS, SUNSET, FULL MOON.
  8. Can the site be used as an observatory, a calendar, for initiation or as a burial place? – CALENDAR, INITIATION
  9. Is there underground water at this site? – YES, at the western entrance flowing SE out of the circle. (i.e. from the point of the narrowest part of the nemeton to the point where it was at its widest).

Whispering Knights

Armed with that information I headed off South East towards the site of the Whispering Knights, a ruined dolmen that stands at the south-easterly edge of the adjacent field to the King’s Men circle. When I arrived I was of course disappointed to find that these stones were also caged. Presumably to stop them wandering around the countryside mauling unsuspecting meek children?

I found that the aura of the stones was again contained within the iron cage, but there was a combined male and female line coming out of the north-westerly edge, and the rods were pointing directly at the King’s Men circle. I dowsed as to whether the two sites were connected by this line and got a positive response.

In addition to this there was a line coming out a little further north. It was a male energy line that connected to the raised mound I had seen next to the King Stone some hours ago. So, more dowsing will have to be done to prove that this line connects directly to that mound, but that is how is appears at the moment. I will have to do some more work on that mound next time I come down to the Rollrights.

Union of the Snake ~ black and white streams

For a few months I have been studying what researchers have written about so-called black streams. These are streams of energy that are reputed to have a range of dysfunctional effects upon human energy fields, eventually causing physical complaints and ailments, even disease.

For my own purposes I have wanted to particularly focus on what has come out of practical dowsing that I have done myself, and that I have verified many times. I have relied upon my usual “20 questions” dowsing approach to lead me towards an increasingly refined concept of what the black and white energy streams may be. From what I can gather the concensus of other people’s published opinion seems to accumulate into these primary concepts:-

  • Black streams cause human dysfunction to varying degrees over time
  • The cause of black streams are either the proximity and intensity of electricity, or geological faults and stresses
  • Crossing streams have a more stringent effect upon the energy fields at the crossing point

David Cowan, whose work I have featured here recently, adds another dimension to this as he includes the attraction of energy paths to sites where the energies of the recent and time-honoured dead are emanating.

Black streams

I don’t feel I have enough information yet to be able to specify the exact origins of black streams, or say too specifically how they are formed. What I have found out through dowsing is that they can be created by the input of negative human emotions, by death (especially violent and sudden death where powerful energy imprints are left).

From Alex Stark

Accident Black Spots

This feeds into my research on accident black spots, which I have been reviving now that the Winter seems to have eased in preparation for Spring. On some local roads that I have been travelling on my attention has been drawn to several locations in the roads where cars are likely to pass each other. Seems a strange indicator, I know, but when you have a couple of close shaves with on-coming cars you begin to take note of the spot.

Then I noticed that other cars seemed to have encounters at those places too! On a Winter’s morning, on an otherwise empty road, two cars travelling in opposite directions, unaware of each others’ locations, would more than likely pass at these specific places that I was noticing! When I later dowsed several of those sites they were a mixture of strong male energy and a weaker neutral ‘transport’ path, but always dowsing as not beneficial to humans. Often the paths of these black streams went into a gate, a hole in an otherwise perfect hedge, or a lane. A path of least resistance, I observed.

Not only did the black streams choose a convenient path, they flowed with gravity. Perhaps something as attractive as a recent grave may be able to pull the energy from that line of least resistance – I will have to test this whenever I find a convenient location. David Cowan also notes that large bodies of water may act as attractors for streams of energy.

Human Dysfunction

I do not doubt that they are correct in any of these points. I have, as yet, not had cause to correct any human illness, pathology or disease through the correction of black stream flows, although I have ‘pinned’ an energy line and changed its energy from ‘unhealthy’ to ‘healthy’ in my own garden. There have only been positive outcomes from that work, so I trust this concept has some merit that I have yet to fully explore. Time will tell on that one.
Kal, however, regularly uses energy for healing work, and I hope he will add his text or comments on the effects he has witnessed over the years. His experiences add a great deal of weight to my conviction that healing is a time-honoured practise of the shaman of the tribe, and that energies can be converted for healing purposes using ancient sites.

Electricity

Every time I encounter a line of electricity pylons, or an electricity sub-station, the results are categorically the same: male energy forms a wide stream encompassing the width of the electrical output. In other words, if I dowse across a line of pylons I will start to get a gradual turning of the rods as I get close, from the moment your ears first hear them buzzing. Then the rods cross for the width of the pylons’ arms, then begin to slowly un-cross as I step out from directly underneath them.

Geological Faults and Stresses

“It’s not their fault – they’re stressed!” Oh dear, back of the class Myrddyn! I have an Ordnance Survey-produced map of the geological strata underlying North West England and North Wales, so it is on my list of things to do this year to overlay the locations of sacred sites and see how they correspond to the geology of the areas they are situated in. A brief study so far indicates bedrock with a high quartz content or a similar large crystalline structure seems to be the foundation of many of the North Wales and Derbyshire sites in particular. Certainly volcanic igneous rocks, and also metamorhic rocks too. This year I plan to be much more specific about that with the aid of the GPS unit, to be able to record exact locations and correlate these with the geological map.

White streams

A subject of less discussion than black streams, the white stream is an interesting proposition. A white stream is composed of both male and female energy lines combined. They are attracted to come together to form a contra-rotating double helix stream through the power of positive emotional energy from humans and other sentient life. Yes, that’s right, we’re not the only contributors to positive energies on this planet, yet our contribution is mutually beneficial, so it seems ludicrous to waste such an opportunity to improve our environment and ourselves at the same time.

How is this unification, or conjunction of male and female achieved? Well, in the old traditional fashion – through a kind of courtship. During your interactions with energy, if you wish them to combine to form white streams, you will need the power of love energy to achieve this union. You are effectively creating the right conditions for loving vibes to be created, and in that ambience energies of opposite polarity can come together to form white streams. In essence this is the Kundalini energy, the sacred serpent, sexual energy. Some people like Aleister Crowley have taken this to extreme degrees, but at a conceptual level, and in terms of the kinds of feelings that facilitate attraction and thus bring about the ‘union of the snakes’, then this is the sentiment that appears to make it happen. Humming Duran Duran‘s “Union of the Snake” may not work quite as well. What WAS that video about? Still, good sax solo – terrible re-introduction back into the second bridge.

White streams feel great to stand on. Overwhelmingly the experience has been positive, at times too lovely for words. There is a rising trickle that tickles your spine in an enjoyable way. You feel infused and enthused, clear-headed and bright after spending time standing in the flow of a white stream, much more so where they form identifiable power centres, and the white energy swirls into an ever-tightening spiral. Turning around on a power centre in the direction of flow feels good too. Often, ideas or fleeting visions are left in your mind by doing this simple act.

I am sure there is mileage in investigating the healing effects of such a stream of energy, and the next time I’ve got a cold (which turns out to be a pentagram shaped virus) I’ll try working with a white stream, or better, a power centre formed from a white stream. Luckily, I found one near to my house only last night, so that’s handy! Interestingly, it occurred to me after finding it that the site was a very popular hiding place for lovers who park their cars in the tiny nook. How there’s a classic chicken-and-egg scenario as I try to work out whether the power centre attracts such activity, or the sexual energy enriches the power centre. I’m gonna feel like a sexual parasite dowsing that one!

The Behaviour of Male and Female energies

Sometimes the male energy emerging from a source finds itself upon or close to a neutral line. I have dowsed several cases where the two lines run alongside each other. It seems as though the neutral lines provide a trackway, a means of moving around the landscape over large distances, and their flow can carry male lines along, to places far from the original source. This is not the case with female lines, however. Female lines stay much closer to their origins, rarely venturing further than the natural confines of the source’s immediate vicinity.

Do you see how, despite the ever-shifting polarities of cultural opinion about the roles of the male and female in society, the energies around us follow some very simple ‘cosmic’ laws that govern their inherent behaviour. Like humans, their fellow sentient energy forms, these energies travel, get involved with each other, form communities, and they affect the way we perceive and react to places and objects around us. All we are required to do is understand their role, and like our ancestors, put that knowledge to good use in the unfolding course of our journey together.
