Spirals on the Knights Quest

(This post has been lost in a time warp and should have been published Oct 2011)

Wow! What a day (or night I should say) The tale is long and one has to follow my Knights Quest to get the gist of it but I would like to give you the next sting in the tale and demonstrate the spiral nature of life phenomena.

My American girlfriend was due to arrive at Heathrow airport on Monday night and I was so looking forward to her visit. In part because she was supposed to be giving me the conclusionary direction on my Knights Quest. Customs and Immigration had other ideas and because of some really regrettable planning on our part they sent her back to the States. Reasons…

  • Lack of return ticket
  • having packed all her stuff (we were intending to go to California together).
  • having a boyfriend here (apparently means that you are a flight risk).

Anyway, my point is this. I had made and was expecting some really good fortune but the plan all changed with this adverse turn of events.

double rainbow

I sat and pondered this unexpected event and wondered as to its meaning and nature when a thought came to mind… quite literally this time last year I had a similar experience. I had applied and got a job only to quit 3 hours into the first day. Then only days later a new opportunity arose and took me half-way across the country. An opportunity that led me on this quest.

At that time I didn’t know what would happen when I followed my instinct rather than my reason. But since the path seems so rich with wonder and magic I was ready to say YES to adventure. I spent the next day trying to figure a way to get to New York as soon possible but had issues of where to leave my car.

I had thought to return to my brothers and leave my car there but the tickets to NYC from Manchester where about £150 more expensive than from London. Also the available flights were a week away. Whilst I was thinking about alternatives I got in touch with a friend who lived nearby (40 miles away) and got a time to meet up with her (Julie) for coffee the next afternoon.

I met up with Julie, who is a truly inspirational soul. As we talked over coffee and cake and I related the devastation of the day before. Julie asked me, “Why don’t you go? You can leave your car here and get a ticket for tomorrow.” I am an impetus soul but even I need a few days to settle with a decision such as this. I told Julie that “I would think about it.” As we settled into our second coffee I was thinking that a sign would be nice. As if my girlfriend not being able to get into the country was enough of a sign.

We finished our coffee and I had pretty much decided to think on the matter for a few days at least. However when I exited the cafe I was greeted by a most wonderful double rainbow right before my eyes. Instantly my thoughts shifted. I turned to Julie and said. “I am going!”  We went back to her home and I used the computer to book a ticket for the next day. Wow! Again in barely an instant I was being led across the world.

If the spiral holds true this should be the beginning of an interesting set of events! The universe seems to be aligning.

Knights Pilgrimage 1 of 5 waylayed onto a pilgrimage

After the evening at Gop Hill (see  nightly revelations) I had missed the message that my knights quest had completed, successfully I might add. As I said in that post I was rather disappointed at its conclusion as I had been looking forward to the challenge of completing a south-north pilgrimage. And indeed had been informed at Dinas Bran (see Dinas Bran shows the way) that my pilgrimage should start at the Forest of Dean.

Anyway a week had past since our visit to Gop Hill and I was beginning to accept the completion of my quest. You might “how did it feel?” Not any different I’m afraid. I have to say that I was/am looking forward to the Spring Equinox ( a week away) which being a sun person will, I feel be very enlightening.

It was a bright sunny morning and I had decided to go for a drive and a walk. I had plenty of work to do so did not feel the urge to go too far, perhaps an hours drive. North Wales seemed like a reasonable destination. A few minutes in the car however had me feeling that maybe the Wizards wood at Alderley Edge would be a better direction. So I took the relevant turn and off I went. Some 10 minutes later I came to a junction where the left would have taken me towards Alderley. I had a strange compulsion to take the right turn instead and so I did.

I pondered whether I should stop the car and determine a destination via the dowsing rods, since I was getting some intuitional urges. I left the matter for the moment and carried on driving, fortunately the night before I had filled the petrol tank to the max.

I drove along the motorway for some 40 minutes before deciding to pull into a service station. As I sat in the car pondering whether to get out a grab a coffee and sandwich a noticeable crow flew over my car, circled in a wide arc and flew off in the direction I had been driving. Okay, I thought, forgot the coffee and hit the highway again. I had driven along this particular stretch many times and knew that there was a distinct lack of sacred sites along it. Unless…

As I drove, I realised that this route would take me south and towards the Forest of Dean and beyond. But it was a 2.5 hour journey to the forest, not including the hour I had already driven. Surely not! I hadn’t prepared for such a long journey, and what if it continued on after that?

Well, I wasn’t going to make that journey without more concrete instructions than a Crow! So, again at another service station I stopped, this time at a quiet corner of the car park to do some surreptitious dowsing. But I didn’t get the chance. As soon as I got out of the car 3 Crows flew over squawking and in the direction of travel. Okay! So be it. I got in the car and set the Sat Nav for the Forest of Dean (which was to be the beginning of the adventure).

Full moon and Knights quest completed – but why?

Gop Hill

Gop Hill

It was a full moon tonight and Gwas called me up about 4:30pm and suggested we go out. As always I was game and off we toodled to a spot that may seem innocuous but has been a place we have both found to energetically fruitful. The place being Gop Hill.

As an aside, on the way to Gwas’s abode I left the motorway (freeway) and came to a stop at the junction at the top. I was waiting. The sun had almost reached the horizon and it was a very cloudy day. I had a notion that if a spark of sunlight should escape before it set then the evening would be prosperous. So I waited. The car behind me honked his horn and then pulled up besides mine, “are you ok?” the man asked and I responded by gesturing at the setting sun. “I am waiting to see if the sun breaks the clouds.” He looked at me in annoyance and drove off at haste. A few seconds later the sun shone through a break in the clouds, a nice beam that shot off into the heavens. At last!

Gwas and I arrived at Gop hill an hour or so later and had just enough light to climb to the top of the hill. Although it was mild at the bottom, the top proved to have a ferociously cold wind blowing across it. Having to carry my dowsing rods in one hand had left me frozen to the bones.

As we walked up Gwas remarked that he hoped to get some signal/indication from Merlin this night, whilst I was curious to see the effects of a Moonstone that I coincidentally had pocketed the night before. When we got to the top we both dowsed for a position of power and ended up some 40 feet from each other. Trying to get out of the freezing blasts I lay down on my spot and instantly the cold vanished. Amazing! I heard Gwas remark to the same effect and we both got on with our own work.

I lay down on my power spot and relaxed into an open mind. After a while I felt a shadow on my left side. It was a vision  of course, not an actual shadow. Out of the corner of my eye, so to speak, I appraised the shadow and realised that it was a man in armour leaning on a sword. For some reason my mind got into a bit of a mixamatosis because I translated this guy into Merlin. With that translation, I ignored him, since he was obviously here for Gwas.

For the remainder of the 15 minutes or so this guy stood to my left facing me, with me ignoring him. I think at one point, I even shooed him towards Gwas. In hindsight my stupidity was amazing.

Some time later we both felt that our time there was done and arose into the howling wind. As we made our way down the wooded area, we exchanged tales of our experiences. I asked Gwas if he had seen the Merlin that was stood by me. No. I described him to Gwas and he exclaimed, “Why do you think it was Merlin, sounds more like a knight to me.”

Duh! This stopped me in my tracks! Of course it was a knight you idiot! We both stopped as this news took full hold of me. As Gwas laughed I took my rods and asked, was it a Knight? Yes. Had it been for me? Yes. Had it been to tell me that my quest was complete?Yes. Had I missed an opportunity here? Yes.

Fortunately, it wasn’t that important, though I felt like I had just missed my Knighting Ceremony. As we continued down the hill I posed questions to Gwas. How come? What about the pilgrimage? So many unanswered questions!

Gwas, laughed. “Sometimes it is like that

Dinas Bran shows the way

Gorgeous Day

Well, well, well. Talk about mystical settings. You cannot get better than Dinas Bran. Gwas and I have visited this sacred hill-top site on many occasions and it has never disappointed. This fine late February day could have been mistaken for a summer’s day. The sun was bright and the the temp was nearer the twenties (centigrade). A day that literally could not be spent in doors. So by 10 a.m. I was itching to be out doors and decided to go to Llangollen and Dinas Bran.

Not being as fit as I was last year (I’m working on it) the climb up the hill was rather arduous but I knew it would be worth it since many a helpful vision had been had upon that magical hill-top. Let me see…

  • UFO sighting
  • Energy Double experience
  • Caileach audience

    Beneficial Place

Are ones that I can recall off-hand. So was this going to be another excellent experience? I reached the top and spent a few minutes gathering my breath and indeed drinking a litre or so of water. Phew! The sun was brilliant and I had the whole castle to myself. I dowsed for a beneficial energetic spot and found one near the twin windows (as I like to call them).  I sat in the window to the left and looked out upon the Welsh countryside. Peace is the word I would use to describe the feeling this morning.

I thought about the previous experiences I had had at this sacred site and whether any more would be fourth coming. Also in mind was the completion of my Knights Quest. Although I have 4 more weeks in which to do so, time was passing. I closed my eyes and let these thoughts play with themselves. As I let my mind open to the possibilities I heard music playing. It wasn’t in this world, it was in my mind. The music was familiar. It was a song that me Energetic Double had sung to me a year or so ago upon the Druids Circle one stormy night. At the time it had called me across the ocean to South America and a pyramid in the jungles. Where was it calling me this time?

As was the last time, I let the song pull me and it flew me south to a huge forest. I internally recognised it as the Forest of Dean some 200 miles south of where I currently was. I spotted my Energy Double sat amongst the trees and knew that it was indicating that this is where I should start with my Knights Quest completion pilgrimage. My eyes opened and I drew a deep relaxing breath. I didn’t know that not knowing where to start had been so stressful.

A few minutes later the dowsing rods had confirmed the knowledge gained and I did a quick gratitude ceremony and with a  final look around that wondrous place. I was off home.

Imbolc 2012 Part 4 St Helen and the Spiral

Some might accuse Gwas and I of embellishment when we write-up our post. In all honesty it is the reverse. Some experiences (or rather coincidences)we have are so bizarre that even we have difficulty believing them (and its us that they have happened to!) I digress. We had just left the wonderful Luds church and had arrived at a nearby well dedicated to St Helen.

Now if you recall, all the way back to last Imbolc. I was given my Knights Quest at a well dedicated to St Helen in Cumbria and here I was full spiral so to speak at another St Helens dedicated well. We had some difficulty in finding the well and when we did, it was disappointingly devoid of life and energy. Gwas and Mike wandered off to do their work and I was left to ponder this site.

crystal and incense layout

As Mike had observed, the well didn’t even have any water in it. Curiously however I had grabbed a full bottle of water from the car (parked some distance away) as I got out and had brought it with me. Was this an opportunity to seed the well with water and energy? The dowsing rods said Yes and I was clambering over the side of the well wall in an instant.

I asked what I needed and the answer pointed to crystals, again I had for some reason brought along a pouchful of crystals (which I don’t normally bring). So I had two of the three ingredients, crystals and water. The third was incense, which I had unfortunately used up at Luds church. I pondered going to look for Gwas when a blast of wind blew my pack of the wall and the empty packet of incense slid out. I looked at as a sign to go and get some, when my eye caught that there were two sticks that had slid out of what I had thought to be an empty pack. Coincidence.

I then reached into my pocket for the lighter and realised that I had given it to Mike earlier on. Again I was about to get up when coincidently Mike popped his head over the wall. I laughed and shouted for the lighter.

I sat besides this little energetic setup and conjured up energy from the earth. As I did I let the water fall over and around the site. I had a feeling to do this is all. After intending energy to flow from the well again. I wanted to know if there was now any energy in flow? Yes. Excellent! I followed the flow and it went along the downhill path that the water from the well would have taken if it hadn’t been dry. Wow!

I asked whether my work would last and got a response of no. It was temporary. I asked for help in maintaining this flow and was led to a nearby hawthorn tree. I asked whether the tree would/could be encouraged to main the energy flow? Yes. Excellent. I stood under the tree and guided its energies towards the well.

I was still not done however because even with the tree, the energy flow would not be sustained. I looked around at the surrounding landscape and noted the rise and fall of the land. Now I know that energy loves to follow these dips and curves so I asked whether I could direct the energies from this land to the well. Yes. Brilliant. I walked about the land herding the energies to the sacred well and after some time I knew the job was complete.

It is a lovely feeling when you get the sense of a job well done. I returned to the well and the crystal layout. I sat by it and just tuned out. I wasn’t meditating or indeed visualising. Just peaceful and contented rest. It was at this time that the same St Helen appeared to me (Okay I know, sounds weird right?) but she did so what can I say. Just as before she showed me the path of blue keys and invited me to follow it. Once more unto the breech I thought and stepped up to the challenge.

The day was turning into a sparkling occasion and more fun was to be had at the Bridestones Sacred site.

Imbolc 2012 Part 3 Lud’s church

Luds Church Entrance

As told in part two, the Green Knight who seemed to be laying out the path I should follow had got me to Luds Church and then vanished (no, not in a puff of smoke). So I was left sitting in the near zero temperature outside the steps that led to Luds Church. How was I to prepare myself? For what kind of encounter? Protection? Cleansing? (No, that I had already done). What then? I pondered this as Gwas and Mike came up and began their work.

Some intuitive dowsing concluded that all I needed was to light a few sticks of incense, clear my mind of distractions and step into the green gorge. Last I was here was at sunset with a ground that was slippery and treacherous. This time was completely different, it was dry, sunny and fresh. All the ingredients of Imbolc.

With no hurry I mad my way through the gorge open to revelation and intuition. My footsteps seemed guided as I was led around and over some of the muddier patches (A good sign for me as I often end up with wet feet). At one point the rod twirled in my hand and I stopped. Was I supposed to meditate here? Yes. I leant against the wall of the gorge and closed my eyes.

My thoughts were on the knights quest. Was that quest over? Did I succeed or fail? Was I to continue on it. With simple flashes of insight I was shown that my quest was nearing completion but required a pilgrimage from south to north. I was also told that I had this one chance to complete this quest for knighthood. You may wonder how I was shown this, well an image and thought was brought to mind. That of a recent story in the paper about a knight being stripped of his knighthood. Warning heeded!

knight stripped Fred Goodwin

With these rather glad (and hopeful) tidings I continued on through the church. Near the other side of the gorge I was directed upwards and out into a snow-covered glade. It immediately reminded me of a scene from the old Kung Fu TV series where Cain, having received the burning Tiger and Dragon tattoos falls upon fresh cold snow.

I felt the need to do another meditation and stood in silence by the exit with the snow in front of me. It was here that I got another profound image and message. The message was simply…

  • Bring wisdom from the dark and share it in the light”

With this message I also had a vision of the Tarot Hermit Card upside down. This seemed to conclude my experiences at Lud’s church for that day at least. So much so that I was not allowed to return in and look for Gwas and Mike.

Kal Malik on the final leg of the Knights Quest

2011 amazing times

In one sentence…

“The universe sings the song but you provide the song title”

Ok, I can see from the draft posts that Gwas is beginning his 2011 round up and since (see The World is Changing) the new spiral has already begun for me I thought I’d get my update in first!

In complete honesty 2011 has only one word that can describe it, amazing!

Where to begin? Of course this year has been dominated by my Knights Quest. So that is a good a place as  to start as any…

Knights Quest

It all came to the fore at Imbolc festival when, quite innocently, Gwas and I were venturing out to several sites. Our first stop was at a site we, incorrectly, identified as St Helen’s well. At this site I had a vision of that infamous entity Caileach. She directed me on a quest to fulfill the achievement of nine blue keys. Once this was achieved I would be knighted. I know, I still have to laugh when I think of it. But that adventure led me across the Atlantic on an improbable.

Although I tried to follow this questing path with courage and aplomb. It was late this Autumn that I was informed that the quest remained incomplete and that a tighter spiral would have to be journeyed. I am rather disappointed at that but understand now why it has to be thus. See? Sometimes you just need to be told twice!

Some of the more salient points (as determined by me) were:

  • Journeying 3,500 miles to the States
  • Personal physical healing
  • Creating a Knights Code to live by (which I have so far)
