The First Crop Circle of 2010: My interpretation

CropCircleConnector – the site that I trust to deliver sensible and timely information about the location and circumstances of the latest crop circles – has posted pictures of the first 2010 circle to appear. Yet again it has started in Wiltshire, and again the location is significant to those of us who watch for such things. The bigger question though is – what does it signify?

That has been a difficult question, but not one to which I have placed much of my attention, time or focus over the last year as I casually observer their appearance, and equally casually admired their form. This time, however, the formation seems to be particularly relevant to my researches at this very moment. Timely in a spookily coincidental way – the kind of coincidence that makes me prick up my ears and have a good sniff of the flow of consciousness as it passes.

Here’s what it looks like (courtesy of CCC’s site):

What this means to me

My reading of this formation is entirely personal, and I urge you to make your own reading to suit yourself. This is in no way relevant for anyone else, but in case you’re interested, here’s what it means to me. Remember that this eighth part of the year I have recently found to be concerned with the study of how to investigate, understand and utilise the seven chakra energies that can be produced from the white light of neutral light energy? There was also the suggestion that I work at uniting the two energy centres of the lower and upper energy stores in order to work towards this understanding of the seven energy powers.

So, I look at this picture and I see the eye in the lower half – the observant eye – the eye that is looking at the seven circles – the seven vortices – the seven chakra points. Above it I see the upper wider eye symbol, which I take to be the third-eye – a stylised and symbolic eye, more perfect and with wider vision than the lower “real” eye. Through that third-eye flows five lines of energy, that may either be passing through, emanating from the power point, or flowing into it. Perhaps all three directions at once?

I think the five energy streams are five levels of consciousness through which I have to pass as a result of working with and understanding the seven forms of vibrational energy form that can be diffracted from the white light energy source of the neutral energy form. That’s about as mad and esoteric as it needs to get, right? Clearly, I’m cracked and ought to have voted Monster Raving Loony. But there’s one more thing…

The formation is reputedly laid out on the ley line that Danny Sullivan documents in his book “Ley Lines” on page 199, and which he credits to Sir Norman Lockyer and Alfred Watkins, calling it perhaps the oldest identified ley (by modern man). He names this as being the “Old Sarum Ley”.

It passes through the following sacred sites:-

  1. Durrington Down tumulus [link]
  2. Stonehenge [link]
  3. Old Sarum [link]
  4. Salisbury Cathedral
  5. Clearbury Ring [link]
  6. Frankenbury Camp [link]

That’s a lovely North-South line, and it comes close to a line that I identified as passing through Arbor Low as it travels further up north. I will see whether I can get anything more about those five lines of consciousness change. I have a draft post that I was already preparing about the numbers 7 and 12. Well, I don’t need to point out to you that 7+5….. Things just keep knitting together in this line of work!

Arbor Low: Neutrals and Neutralising

The evening of Thursday 8th April seemed like as good a time as any for me to venture forth on the second of my investigations into the nature of NEUTRAL subtle energy. The air was relatively warm, the sky was clear, there was barely a breath of wind, and hardly a cloud in the sky – surely we would not fall foul of the curse of Arbor Low this time – a curse which guaranteed that no matter what the weather was like anywhere else on the planet that Arbor Low would somehow manage to minimise our time there by conjuring up the most adverse weather possible, be that wind, rain, sleet, snow or hailstorm? Surely, on a day such as this, such a thing would not be possible, even for Arbor Low?

Ley Lines and Hubs

We arrived with our dowsing rods and a pack full of handy gadgets intent on obtaining some useful information. Kal perhaps even harboured thoughts of having a snooze and a daydream in the late evening Spring sunshine as we arrived, seeing as there was nary a cloud to be seen. We were in high spirits as we walked up, throwing our customary tribute of £1 into the tin laid out to pay for ice cream for the farmer’s kids, or whatever it goes to. We paid our tithe, noticing that now there was an additional purchase available – a pamphlet on the history of the circle –  and strode up to the earthwork ring that contains one of the most fascinating places in Derbyshire. We wondered whether the pamphlet would mention any of the things that we knew about the place – the alleyway entrance, the site guardian and its sigil shape, the three energetic entrances, the power of the central stones to heal and commune, the power centres we knew of, and the fact that it was the hub of six strong and wide ley lines that all joined at this point.

The fact that, for us, Arbor Low is a hub for ley lines was perhaps the primary reason that I was here this evening. If ley lines were neutral energy, as I believed then to be, then perhaps there was more neutral energy here too for me to learn about? I was to find out more than I could have hoped I would!

In the diagram below you will see two cardinal lines passing straight through the site on a North/South axis, and an East/West axis. That makes two lines. Then you will see four more lines emanating from the centre. These lines are individual lines oriented on their own unique courses. These four, plus the two cardinal lines makes six ley lines of neutral energy that we had identified previously.

I began by confirming the orientation of these existing lines. They were all found again, on exactly the same courses as found last time. Nothing had changed in respect of those lines, and that was quite reassuring, because it confirmed my suggestion that these lines are in some way pinned in place by being connectors between particular sacred sites that occur along their direction of travel. The most interesting of these lines is the one that travels SSW and passes through the ancient town of Caerleon, known to be a very special place – a place of Kings, and a seat of Arthur in times long gone and now mythological.

Kal had wandered off on his own course of investigation, as was usual. I wanted to keep moving around now because a slight wind had arisen that was bringing in a very cold stream of air that made standing still feel quite the wrong thing to do if you wanted to stay warm. I decided to find out a good place for me to be within the site, and was expecting to be directed to a particular spot or somewhere that had been identified before. I was quite surprised to be taken on a continuous tour of the inner ring of recumbent stones, walking round and round until I realised that it wasn’t going to stop. I was being told that there was a band of energy that encompassed the inner ring of stones, and it was this energy ring that was beneficial for me this evening. I took that as a good sign to obtain some more information!

View of Arbor Low's inner ditch and stones

I went on to obtain some more information about the nature of neutral energy, some of which was confirmatory, other findings were new to me. Here is what I found out:-

  1. Neutral energy is of the same form as “ley” energy (energy leys are straight lines of neutral energy)
  2. Neutral energy naturally travels in straight lines
  3. It can be formed into other shapes by animals, plants or human activity and interaction
  4. It shares some of its frequency range with male and female radiant energies
  5. It is not compatible with male and female earth energies
  6. It can be a container, but cannot itself be contained
  7. It cannot be attracted or repulsed by any material
  8. Neutral forms of subtle energy can be created by and strengthened by the input of radiant energies

Review of the Year 2009 – Part 7: Summary (Q&A)

Section 7. Summary of the Year

In order to organise our thoughts Kal and I came up with some questions the answers to which we hoped might summarise the way that year has gone for us – what were the bits we expected, what exceeded our expectations, and which things arose to meet us on this path that we didn’t anticipate? Here are my answers to this year’s questions.

What did I think I was going to learn?

  1. Whether specific periods of the year are more energetic than others, and whether those periods align to the calendrical eight-fold year.
  2. How stone circles work in terms of their energy
  3. Whether specific geology affects the energetic responses from sites

By the summer of 2009 I had already established to my satisfaction that there was a difference in the strengths of energies at the Spring Equinox and Summer Solstice. I was sure that there was more powerful sun energy (i.e. stronger male energy) at the Summer Solstice. The Spring and Autumn Equinoxes were very similar in strength, and were a balance of male and female earth energies. At the Winter Solstice the male energies were very weak, as was the Sun. The female energies fluctuated only in relation to the strength of the Moon and the input from nearby trees, again weaker in Winter.

Determining any objective means of measurement was difficult, as our own energy levels seemed to be a factor in how well we could dowse or do energy work at a site, however a scale of measurement (strength from 1-10) seemed to work for the purposes of obtaining some data that could be compared between sites. The solstice and equinox dates depended upon the quality of the Sun to determine the amount of additional energy was at the site compared to our visits to them on other dates.

The Celtic Festival dates (Lammas, Beltane, Samhain and Imbolc) in between those times were much harder to figure out. These dates seems to depend upon the position of the Moon for their effects upon ancient sites., rather than the Sun’s effect. I will be posting much more on this soon, complete with a table of the relative energy levels at various sites dowsed this year.

Further theories have emerged concerning the operation of energies at stone circles and other sites too. See the Earth Energies and Ancient Sites Summary posts for details on those.

We have kept a weather-eye on the geology of sites whilst dowsing this year. It started for me in Carnac when I discovered that the stone rows were placed along a shelf of rock quite different from the surrounding geology of the rest of the nearby coastline. We have concurred with the popular dowsing theory that geological faulting is important to the situation of ancient sites, as is often the presence of water, but we do not wholly agree with the necessity of water (or a ‘blind spring’ formation) being present at all ancient neolithic sites. Some major sites such as Stonehenge and The Rollright Stones do have this water formation, however, and we think these popular sites may have led to the popularity of the idea amongst the dowsing fraternity that such a formation is necessary to a strong energy site. We do not find this to be true.

'CARNAC: Des Pierres Pour Les Vivants' by Pierre Mereaux

What’s been the surprise?

  1. Crop circles being designed by some intelligence beyond the confines of this planet – expected them to be of human design and manufacture.
  2. The energetic and healing potential of running water – Pistyll Rhaeadr and Viktor Schauberger convinced me of this at different ends of the year. At Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall my wife’s twisted ankle was healed in minutes. Later I read Schauberger’s theories on the properties of water and I understood how this could have come about.
  3. A spiritual pilgrimage being worthwhile doing, and not some soulless religious historical trail as I had imagined it to be.

  1. Astrology - There is a correlation, a link, between the relative positions of the stars and a human being. My natal chart is stunningly accurate in assessing my personality traits. Kal and I have also discovered that we are energetically linked to particular planets – Kal to Mercury and myself to Venus. We are more energetically ‘loaded’ or ‘charged’, and more energy work is possible, when our respective planets are visible. I have tracked this since the beginning of the year and have each dowsing response confirms this.
  2. Elemental beings and cloud sylphs – I see some this year on four separate occasions and each time I was stunned by the effect – this was no mere simulacrum. Seeing faces in the clouds must be the third and conclusive qualifying factor in any signs of madness developing – that much I do appreciate, but nevertheless, they have been present at quite specific times of high energy.

Review of the Year 2009 – Part 6: Esoteric learning

Section 6 : Esoteric learning

Originally I called this section ‘Miscellaneous’ but on reading back through it again I thought that moniker did it a dis-service, because the information in here is really more about various pieces of esoteric learning that I have come across in the last year. Each piece is a piece of a larger puzzle. Each piece offers a tiny glimpse of this larger picture that I recognise now as Nature.

Many of the topics I had dismissed long ago when I had first looked at them in my youth. Coming back to them in later years, with more knowledge, more access to knowledge, and greater resources available to me, I have found that most of the topics have some element of value to me. I am always aware, however, that each subject in itself could consume a person and drive them to distraction, so I take their practical essence, learn some basic techniques or practice, then leave the wilder and wider areas to those who wish to become absorbed by them. To me they are all pieces of a larger puzzle.

6-1. Crop circles: Definitely something odd about them. Created using earth energies, and designed by some other unknown motivational force which seems to be external to the Earth (‘extra-terrestrial’ being in the sense of some intelligence that is not born of this planet, whatever that may be). I participated in some way in the triggering of the creation of a crop circle’s formation somehow when I passed by the place where one would shortly come to be produced. The site was in between two established earth energy sites on a ley line that I had visited that same day. Crop circles patterns are made to trigger a revelation in human consciousness, Whether this be on an individual or a more global basis is as yet unknown.

6-2. Tarot cards: I tried the tarot cards again properly this year, and under the guidance of Kal, who had learned them thoroughly. What I was surprised to learn was that they are a useful means of obtaining more information about the qualities and intentions of the sentient energies that we encounter. They are not, as we originally thought, the product of a deranged imagination. As one might expect they also are capable of reflecting one’s own psychology very well too, and have been a valuable tool for self-analysis. However, I use them sparingly, and am quite appalled sometimes by their accuracy. I started using a Celtic Cross formation, but went on to devise my own layouts for the cards, as befitted the situation I was asking about. I now exclusively use the Druidcraft Tarot from Stephanie & Philip Carr-Gomm, only because the symbols make sense to me.

Druidcraft Tarot

6-3. Salute of the Sun: Both Kal and I have observed separately and together a phenomenon that we call “The Salute of the Sun”. This refers to the sun coming out when we do something that progresses us along our spiritual path. For example, we may be visiting a stone circle on a cloudy dull day, but the moment we make our connection with Nature during meditation, and then ask a question whose answer indicates a new direction or an answer that will help us know more about a subject, then we have noticed that the Sun comes out from impossible angles to shine upon us. This has happened so often now that we can no longer simply call it coincidence. As we have trained ourselves to recognise significant signs, we feel this is the most significant, as it is never “looked for”, but always makes us feel reassured, and we smile to ourselves.

6-4. Intuition: Following intuition has guided us very well this year. There is little point in trying to intellectualise this. Something that started out as something to try has become something of a waymarker on our spiritual path. If we follow intuition it guides us well. If we ignore it then we have to work much harder to achieve things. If we follow it, new opportunities appear – if we ignore it they close off. Simple as that.

6-5. Sacred Geometry: Gardens and building designed by noted Freemasons contain elements of sacred number and geometry that enhance the energetic potential of their sites. They encode these principles and retain the ability to attract people, power, good fortune and wealth. This is the art of Feng Shui in action. This has informed us that there was a knowledge of the power of place and energy in the Western Mystery Tradition as well as the Eastern, and that it was highly active until quite recently, in the 20th Century, when these principles were seemingly ignored and “sick” buildings began to be built.

6-6. The Shining Ones: Whoever the Shining Ones were their principles of geometry and sacred site building are inherent in the design of ancient sites. When we dowse about the influence of this little-known group of humans upon the design of ancient sites it always comes back that their principles were encoded in the designs, but that they were not personally or directly involved in the building of most of the ‘provincial’ sites. We still have to check whether they were involved in the building of the major sites, such as Stonehenge. Still a mystery!

Bringers of Esoteric Knowledge

6-7. Healing With Water: Hydrotherapy has less to do with the mineral qualities of water, than with the energy generated from its source, the amount of light it is subjected to, and its movement. This concurs with my research of Viktor Schauberger’s work, as he notes that the movement of the water is paramount in determining its qualities. The amount of radiant energy that the water consumes seems also to be highly relevant – the sunlight and moonlight appears to affect the healing qualities of water greatly.

6-8. Orbs:  I never gave Orbs a second thought until I photographed a few accidentally. They keep being photographed on power centres in sacred sites. We don’t know what relevance they have right now, but we will have to do some more research into this topic. They cannot simply be dismissed as specks of dust, or the reflections of light on the camera lens. I took two identical pictures a second apart (guided by intuition) of the chamber inside West Kennett Long Barrow in identical conditions. One has no Orb, the other shows one quite clearly! This, I cannot explain.

Note the orb positioned above the feather at the back

6-9. Animal interest: Rather annoyingly cows are over-actively interested in dowsing, for some reason. This has disrupted our dowsing trips on a few occasions because if you let them they’ll come right over and actively interfere with the dowsing process, blocking your path, chasing you away, nudging your arms. It’s quite strange! What DO they think they’re doing?

6-10. Sound and colour frequency: At Long Meg stone circle we proved to ourselves that it is possible to correlate sound frequencies with the chakra rainbow spectrum of frequencies, thus demonstrating to us a correspondence between light and sound frequencies. Interesting, but has led us nowhere else yet.

6-11, Crystals: As well as being able to transform energy from the earth into a subtle energetic form (possibly via the action of water), they also have the power to concentrate that energy and store it. This makes crystals almost indispensable when working with subtle earth and radiant energies. I intend to study this further to try to describe this quality of crystals in a much more scientific way, but for now I merely want to point these qualities out, as this is the truly important information.

Bluehenge: funeral site near Stonehenge on River Avon

An article posted recently by Gregory Katz describes the latest findings from the archaeological excavations near to the Stonehenge complex of sites. The latest finding is the site of a bluestone circle, which is believed to have been associated with funeral rituals. But then we’ve heard things like that before. I would prefer to wait until I can get to dowse the site before I go along with such explanations, unless the archaeology is overwhelming, which it usually isn’t. The only hint we get is the line “there were signs that many human beings were cremated there.

None of this information takes us much further than the recent excellent TV program about Stonehenge based upon the team’s earlier findings. I guess we’ll have to wait a bit longer for more information to emerge.

Crop Circles & the dowsing rod

As fortune would have it – I set off at about 6am on a fine summer’s day heading southward to meet up with Lucy Pringle and a few other cohorts to tour around some of 2009′s crop circles in Wiltshire.

I arrived at Silbury Hill (our meeting place) at 10:00 am on the dot to find it pouring with rain – nothing new there then! We all clambered into the least number of cars possible and set of for the first circle.

Which indeed was a circle unlike most others which can be described as crop patterns. Anyway this circle was pretty un-assuming as a 10 page trawl on Google didn’t find any reference to it!

Anyway the circle had two arms coming off at opposite ends and internally was split into f0ur sectors. The crops were flattened in such a way that they were matted – kind of like a checkers board. Strange thing was that opposite segments were thatched the opposing way so that the four sectors looked – dark – light – dark – light.

Ok – enough description – what about the dowsing…?

Well – the circle’s energy was much less than any stone circle I have visited. It had an entrance – which happened to be where our party entered. It had two power centres which were about ten feet either side of the entrance and some ten feet into the circle. Both the power centres and the circle itself were female energy. And that’s how far I got with that one before the group disembarked … a bit of a touristy bunch if you ask me.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention one thing. The circle had a diameter of about 60 meters and an aura which extended some 100 meters!

The above is the second circle we went to. Wow! It is quite near a road and easy to get to. The rain had eased off and so we spent some time in this one – thank the stars!

Ok, I asked if the whole circle itself had a power centre – yes! If you look at the pic above and start at the arm that has a missing ring. Using that as 1, count the arms left ways and when you get to arm 3 then using the centre circle as 1 count outwards 5 circles. in this circle, near one edge was the power centre of the whole thing!

How big is this CC? Well see the really tiny circles on the arms? those were about 5 ft wide!

I got a lot of info from this circle about the makers – hold on to your hats!!

  • was this circle made by humans? no!
  • was it made by aliens? yes
  • are these aliens denizens of this planet – i.e. some kind of fairy type creature? no
  • are these aliens from another planet? yes
  • are they still here? yes
  • do they live here now? yes
  • did they use some machine to make these? yes
  • did the machine use EMF? yes
  • did this EMF propel the wind? yes

You have to understand that there were a lot of questions in between that I got “no”‘s to!

  • is this crop circle of benefit to us? yes
  • is it of benefit to the aliens? yes

And after this unbelievable exchange we were off to the next CC!

The Serpent God

Wow – what a crop circle this is…right by Silbury Hill. Here I spent some time finding energy paths through the paths that make up the pattern. I also confirmed the answers above for this circle too.

Note: It often happens that when Gwas and I are dowsing energy patterns at home or looking for energy entities – we come across some kind of mental barrier – as if the energies don’t want to be dowsed (anthropomorphising?) or that they have some kind of deflection around them – which means that – we will often just forget to dowse, or just do something else instead. Only to recall afterwards that we were “supposed to be dowsing”. We have been able to get round this on the 3rd/4th attempt by really “consciously” reminding ourselves to do it.

The reason I mention this is because at the circles I felt the same – a kind of lethargy towards wanting to dowse – I had to fight this a lot to get even the work above done. To this end Gwas and I intend to return to visit some crop circles in a week or two to garner further information.

On the above circle – there are a couple of really interesting things to note (from the point of view of its creation). Looking at the picture you see there is an outer circle – then a sort of semi circle – where the corn thins out in the middle of it and also another semi circle where the corn thins out at the outer points. When I was there – looking at these “thinning edges” they were really fine – I can’t see how they were made by some machinery of terrestrial origin!

It was quite nice wondering around this “serpent god” and dowsing was left aside as the sun revealed itself and we took the time to just enjoy being out and about.

Is it a Real crop circle?

From the above crop circle – which was on a hill – we spied another about a mile away. During the trip so far I had made a new friend in the person of one Hanna, from Finland. Together we decided to go and examine this crop circle.

Along the road we got a bit confused as to which path to take that would lead us to the circle – fortunately the rods did a good job of directing us. So it was about half an hour later we were at the circle we spied. It was laid out like a paired yin/yang design…

As Hanna and I walked up to the circle we found that a couple of our fellow tour groupies were returning from it – they had not been impressed and thought that this one was a fake! We carried on to see for ourselves. Hanna – who had spoken with our tour leader about it earlier had said that Lucy considered it to be genuine.

According to the picture we arrived either from the left or right along the middle track. I could see immediately why the other members had put it down as a fake. Although it looks quite clean cut from the air – take a look at this picture from the ground (all are on this website where they claim that this one is real!).

Can you see how the crop is lifting up and also the edges are not smooth? If you visit the link above you can go to the site this image was taken from and see a much larger view as well as other pics.

A lot of the crop in the “flattened” area was not as flattened as the other circles we had visited. Hmmm…As Hanna wandered over to go and speak to/observe a group of people meditating – I did some dowsing.

  • Was this crop circle made by aliens? No
  • Was it made by humans?Yes
  • Is this then a fake crop circle?Yes

Er…what else is there to say? Hanna returned and I informed her of my findings, she was half convinced from the layout of the crop. But I could see she was still leaning towards wanting to agree with our tour leader, Lucy. I had given Hanna a quick lesson in dowsing up on the serpent and she had proved quite skilful – so I handed her the rods and said “Check for yourself“. I lay basking in the sun whilst she wandered back and to with the rods, occasionally shaking her head. Finally she returned to where I was sat and dropped the rods at my feet, “its fake” she said in her Finnish tinged accent – with some disappointment. I shrugged and we both walked away feeling a bit cheated. On the way down Hanna bumped into a person who had spoken on crop circles a week ago at a symposium she had attended in Glastonbury – as she passed him by she shouted, “Don’t bother. Its a fake” – She had become a believer in dowsing intuition!

All in all, quite a good first trip to crop circle land. Definitely requires one or two more trips. Also there are many more questions to be asked…particularly around the “why” of these as well as whether there is any relevance to “all” the crop circle <-> 2012 connection(s).

Stay tuned!

Kal

PS – you should see some of the images and article on the site linked above…for example here is another image close-up of the crops in another (2008) crop circle…

Compare the “flat-ness” of the crops in both these pics – clearly the bottom one has more foundation for being a true CC. Maybe the Yin/Yang one was made with a blunted alien machine?

PPS – Aliens?

Arbor Low on Sacred Sites list

I’ve added an entry onto our Sacred Sites page after I visited it this weekend. I used my new Active10 GPS unit to trace the positions of the outer stones, some of which are marked by small square stones already. Then I ventured into the circle’s interior space to walk the path of energies that connects all the major inner stones.

Showing outer stone positions and inner stone energy links

Showing outer stone positions and inner stone energy links

I can now picture how we can map our dowsing without having to rely on sketches or memory – it’s real-time dowsing being recorded. The stone positions are indicated by the spikes as I re-traced my steps once the rods crossed. The inner circles are the exact paths as they circled the inner stones and weaved around each other.
