Startling revelations
I want to begin this tale with two notes:
- Be mindful of what you wished for when you were a child.
- Be wary of a mother’s prayer.
Rootish
It all began with a summer’s day trip to the forest of Alderley Edge and to be honest where better a place? Since this has been the site of so many revelations. The most interesting and original one being “you are the magician that creates his own worlds” That was about 3 and half years ago. It seems a life time away now. The visit to Alderley Edge is documented here, however the gist of it was that I was told.
The journey I have been on throughout my life was…“because of a promise I had made to myself when I was a child”
This was an odd revelation because I hadn’t asked for any information as such. Although after more consideration I was, at the time stood on a spot that connected me with the roots of the Earth. Perhaps this was a rootish revelation? Pay attention to that, it will come up again.
Prayers
My next outing was to the fabled (within this blog) Ancient Yew. A magnificent creature of tomes of wisdom. On many an occasion has this worthy imparted knowledge, freely and with nothing asked in return. I was sat in the garden (story related here) that the tree caretakers over and was given another inkling into the previous message.
It was my promise combined with the prayer of another.
My mind was filled with ideas and notions, but nothing fit the bill. Who had said the prayer? What was the promise? I was completely lost in both regards.
Mother
A week after visiting with the Ancient Yew I was out with Gwas, ostensibly to celebrate the passing of Venus across the Suns face. Although we quickly determined that the Venus-Sun had an energetic significance. The fact that it was passing across the face of it didn’t (yes, it was a surprise to us too).
Anyway, we decided to head for Bryn Celli Ddu. The clouds were ominous as our journey of 1.5 hours began and we were concerned that the forecast had been bleak. Still weather has never stopped us before so we ventured forth with hearts filled with meaning and purpose.
I had to laugh, we arrived at the perfect moment. The clouds were still above us but the sun was making a valiant attempt to breakthrough. As we walked the path towards the sacred mound there were a few people leaving and we were pleasantly surprised to find the site to ourselves. I asked whether this was a place where I could learn something. Both Gwas and I got clear answers that today was a day of receiving and we had no need to give. I believe it was because of the conjunction.
Finding a place to meditate on the banks of the mound, I closed my eyes and opened my mind to impressions. admittedly I was focusing on my childhood, since it was that place where my answer lay. Still, moments later I found myself, as a young child, listening to a tale my mum was telling. I could not at that time recall the details of the story, but I do remember telling my mum that I wanted to be like the person in her story. She had responded by saying “I will pray for you to become so”
Startled, I rose from my meditation. Oh my god(ess)! My mother’s prayer? What a revelation! And yet the details of the tale escape me still. Argghhh! As we left the site, more people were walking down the path towards it. It was perfect timing. You take the signs as you get them.
Clue
We had only thought to go to one place this day and we had debated the choices, our other option was Dinas Emrys (a place of Merlin legend). However noting that we had some time left, we decided to take the adventure further and visit our second option too.
Again, the rain was coming and going, but when we arrived it dropped to a drizzle and as we began the climb it stopped completely and the warmth of summer (if not the sun) was our companion along the climb. We reached the heights of this fabled place (I have only been there once before) and I decided to dowse an auspicious place for garnering more about the puzzle that was on my mind. I was directed to a particular place and direction to sit in.
Oh by the way, on the way up I noticed that there was plenty of Quartz around so I had the idea of rekindling my third eye as I had done so at the mound of Douth in Ireland. See this post for how I used 5 crystals to do that.
PLacing the crystals in a pentagram around me I visualised them channeling energy into my 3rd eye. Frankly it was rubbish. There was no sunlight to energise them and I knew (and dowsed) that there impact was minimal. Still, I stared out into the valley below and pondered the pieces of information I had garnered with a question hanging over it all.
What was the story my mum had told me?
Nothing was available and I had almost given up when my focus returned to the valley I had been staring into. There had been a valley in the story. I was sure of it. So now I had another clue.
With nothing more available I returned to Gwas and helped him with an experiment (see his post) before we returned home. As we drove through the spattering rain, I pointed out to Gwas. Look, the sun has come out and for a brief few seconds it had.
Sister
My sister is older than I am and a thought had occurred to me, I wonder if she knew of this tale (of the many) my mum told. Well, that evening I gave her a call. We talked for a while and then I led her down the road to my point…
- “Do you recall any of the stories our mum used to tell?”
- “Yes, lots”
- “Do you recall one that has a valley in it?”
- “A valley?”
- “Yes”
- “Yes I recall it”
What she told me was a revelation beyond any of those above.
Stay tuned…
