Woodhenge – clearing and leaving
A few weeks ago I was back at Woodhenge as part of my travels from Arbor Low to Christchurch. I was busy tracing the line through a barrow which I later found out was called “Ratfyn Barrow” locally, and which was positioned on a hill just south of Durrington and west of Bulford. Woodhenge’s location was a pleasant place to stop off and look around with the dowsing rods again, and also to look at why I had never gone to look at Durrington Walls which is right next to Woodhenge!
I stopped off at Woodhenge in order to have some lunch, like most of the other people who were there it seems, but unlike them I actually went into circles of concrete posts (they mark the original positions of the timber structure). There were several cars parked at the car park next to the site when I arrived but no-one seemed to be visiting the place. Later, when one couple of girls appeared at the site they lasted, oh…twenty seconds? Long enough to walk from one end to the other, read a sign, and then leave. OK, maybe a minute, but no more! As Kal and I have said many times, what are you expecting to find unless you are prepared to spend time tuning into the place? I expect many people imagine some information board is going to reveal all the site’s secrets instantly, and perhaps they are disappointed by most sacred ancient sites when they don’t actually reveal much to the casual visitor? I often feel like shouting out, “Buy some dowsing rods!!” but it’s a pointless rant.
I had the place to myself to dowse and I began by asking a question that Kal had sent me by text message (ah, techno-pagan that I am!).
- Were there any of the shades there that he had brought with him from Barnstaple recently? There were – only three though, and I knew that he had brought many more than that, so where were the others?
- Were these shades nearby? No.
- Had they departed of their own accord? Yes.
- Had they followed a ley line? No. I stopped for a moment to think about other possible methods of egress….
- Had they attached themselves to visitors, perhaps? YES. All of them? No, some had dissipated due to the energies of the site, and the work Kal had done by burying one of this crystals. This had seen 25% of them shades being grounded and released, but the rest had attached themselves to visitors!
- Were they doing any harm to these people? No.
- Were they having a beneficial effect upon their hosts? YES.
I asked if I could release the three remaining shades and got a positive response. With the help of the dowsing rods I visited the site of each of the shades in turn and then, once I had felt its presence, I called upon some spirit guides that I use for this purpose and they helped me to remove the shades safely and for their benefit. None were too reluctant to go, it seemed, which was comforting (I don’t know why, but I guess it makes me feel like it was the right thing to do if they wanted to go anyway).
On the way out I dowsed a ritual path that would retain all of the energies that I had collected, or rather, would prevent me from losing energy. Blooper alert - watch me heading in a sun-aligned direction at first and then correcting it for moon-aligned folk (such as myself). If I wasn’t filming it I would have giggled. Here is the result:

Darkness at the Wizards Wood
Well, Here we are 2011 and we’re off! From my records I noted that my first visit out in 2010 was to Alderley Edge and so without much ado I was email Gwas and suggesting a January the 2nd trip to that magical (well it is called the Wizards forest) wood.
With other commitments to consider Gwas re-scheduled what was going to be a daytime visit to an early evening one. That was fine with me, Alderley Edge and I are well acquainted for nightly visits (as I spent the night there last year).
When we stopped at the edge of the forest Gwas announced that there were no torches to be had and since my night vision is totally gone to pot. I was left wondering whether this was going to end in injury. Undaunted however I rallied my reserve strength and my belief that the wood and I were on good terms.
As we walked through the wood I recalled reading the Shamen Carlos Castaneda’s work. In particular a time when he was out in the dead of night in the brush of the wilds and was practicing power walking or the gait of power. From memory I tried this myself and it worked a treat. The whole visit was fall and trip free.
Encounters
Curiously Gwas stopped at one point in the path and we looked up to see that we had come to the fake stone circle that is a mere hop away from the father of the forest. Being the forward-scout I jumped up the path and wandered around the non energised stones. Hmmm still no energy i’m afraid.
Then it was down the slope to the Father of the Forest. I have a weird experience with Oaks, the one at Nine Ladies is rather a cantankerous old smudgeon who has twice nearly had my eye out. The one at Nine Stones Close however is a wonderful being who has afforded me much attention and learning. The gigantic father of the forest (as Gwas has named him) is somewhere in between.
I approached cautiously but felt that he was amenable this evening (It is Alderley Edge after all, though). I wandered through his aura with comfort and ease. After moments of meditation I felt the urge to leave his side and so, virtually with eyes closed I wandered off further down the slope. For a moment I had a fear of losing Gwas, but it was only an instant. Again, this is the wizards forest where I was first named, The magician who creates his own worlds. Nothing bad was going to happen here.
Although I had my rods in hand I was navigating by feeling alone. Eventually I came to a stop some fifty metres from the Father, though I couldn’t see it. I was no-where in particular as fas as I could tell, but this seemed to be the place. I asked whether this was a good place to seek answers? Yes.
As an exercise (laugh) I asked to be taken to the best place to ask questions. The rods took me in a sharp circle exactly to where I was standing.
On my mind of late had been the exodus of Energetic Shrouds to Woodhenge (via me!) I asked whether I should do anything about this and via yes/no responses came to the conclusion that
Whats done is done, leave it, let it go.
Quite un-equivocally.
Along with Gwas I lit some incense as a sign of thanks and we departed.

Correcting mistakes – a return to Woodhenge?
Readers may recall that the odd time or two, due to our in experience, we have been called back to sites to correct a previous error. Breaking up our personally created Stone Circles at Dyserth Castle being one such example.
My recent (Winter 2010) experiences had me accidentally leaving behind a host of Energetic Shades at Woodhenge. I say accidentally but it was intentioned by the shades. Having discovered this ruse a few days ago, I decided to ask whether there would be any negative consequences of this move.
As usual, such questions are much more appropriately asked at Sacred sites, thus I persuaded Gwas (with a mere email) to go out on a cold (-6) frozen Boxing Day to one of my favourite (though not often visited) sites, Mitchell’s Fold.
Gwas had just returned from two weeks in Canada and this had two beneficial effects:
- He hadn’t been out to a British Sacred site for a while and thus was ameniable to a whole day out in the wilds.
- He had plenty of cold weather gear, which as readers know I am lacking in.
Our first stop was going to be an ancient Yew (not The Ancient Yew) but we couldn’t see it from the road and the snow being nearly a foot deep didn’t enthuse us to clamber across fields. So Mitchels Fold was our first trek out of the car and boy was it freezing! Minus 6 as I said.
We made our way to the kingstone and then into the circle itself. I was not surprised to find that (in the winter) my best location in the site had changed to a stone some three away from my usual (summer) “best place to be”.
This also happened to be the place to ask questions so as Gwas prepared a ceremony for his work I walked back and to by this stone trying to discern whether I had erred in my Shade move.
Interestingly, Gwas commented that perhaps I had done Barnstaple a favour by removing them from the town center. To which I responded by asking him, what would the effects be of placing a huge new energy in a sacred place like Woodhenge?
In between trying to keep my hands warm (as the song lyrics go) and staying out of the occasional blast of cold wind I managed to figure out that. At the moment at least no damage was/is being done. However as the Sun months grow then consequences would be more profound. Would they be good or bad? Again this was for some reason undecided? How would they be decided? Alas not a questions the rods can answer.
Again, I was left with the frustration of not knowing. I will be honest, I am tempted to just go and get them shades and drop them off where they belong (or rather where they were before).

Winter solstice and discovering the trick
The 2010 winter solstice evening was around -8 degrees, crystal clear and a full moon. Rather than my usual any-weather gear I decided to add a couple of more layers on for protection of the mundane kind.
I went out for an evening stroll, enjoying the Christmas lights and the fullness of the moon shining down upon me. The streets were clear as it was around 10pm (way past everyone’s bedtime in these ‘ere farming parts).
The roads were (radio 4 treacherously) icy so I didnt fancy going for a drive to some exotic energetic location however I did feel the need, so as it was the only place in the offing I meandered in the direction of St Annes church, the site of many Energetic Shrouds as I discovered earlier (see post here).
As I arrived at the portal-like entrance to the back streets, I stopped to protect myself with an extra layer of energy and felt the sizzle of my Energy Double glow too. Hmmm I wonder what effect that would have here?
I stepped/slid my way down the old paved stones and felt odd. It was odd because I couldn’t feel the usual “pull” of energy from the shrouds. I paused by the wall of the church, partly to steady myself on the snow and reflected on this feeling. My first thought was, wow! This new Energy was well good at protection. But I had a niggling fancy and dropped my protection to see if it had any effect, none. Not a frankfurter. What was going on?
As er fortune would have it I had my dowsing rods in my satchel so I did a quick bit of dowsing. Was I being affected by Energetic Shrouds? No. Was it because of my protection? No. Was it because of my Energetic Double? No. Was it for some other reason? (obviously) Yes.
A thought occurred to me, were there any Energetic Shrouds near me? No. Take me to the nearest Energetic Shroud, now I knew the place was loaded with them from past dowsing, right so there should be one quite close by.
I found one right on the other side of the square and in the process was nearly caught, rod handed, by some late-night revellers.
But there should have been more than that?
- Are there many Energetic Shrouds here? No.
- In comparison to the last time I dowsed how much less are they? 10% No,
- 30% No, 50% No – wow! seriously!
- 80% No.
Eventually, I got to 97% less shrouds than when I last dowsed. What “was” going on?
- Was this because it was a Solstice? No,
- Full moon? No.
- Any astro phenomena? No
Oh My Gods (Shiva, Shakti, God, Allah, Yehovah, Kahooli…), a single thought struck me and I was totally thrown by it. I couldn’t even dowse it for a moment as I reeled at the…at the what? Shock?
Was this because they had been taken away by me in the rose quartz crystals and left at Woodhenge (see this post and this post 16th December)?
YES!
I had forgot! I had completely forgot that I had taken the Shrouds from here in the crystals. I had forgotten that fact when I was hastily leaving the crystals behind.

Another thought occurred to me:
- Was it the shrouds that had made me hurry from the Woodhenge? Yes,
- Was it so that I would leave them behind and not realise it? Yes
- Was this what they wanted? Yes
O well I suppose if it was what they wanted then no harm done, right? I asked the rods, “Was that a good thing to do?” fifty/fifty. I got the left rod turning and the right staying solidly forward.
My hands were totally frozen now (no gloves alas) So I quickly shot off one more question…
- Is it because it is undetermined as yet whether it will turn out for the better? Yes.
Didnt’ I tell you that shrouds are tricky beasts? I have a feeling that I might be going to Woodhenge again to fix this.
I slipped and slid back home, pondering this “usage” of my goodself.

Quest for merging with my Energetic Double part 2 of 2
Here I was at the culmination of a quest (see this post). Let me set the scene. The ground had about 8 inches of snow. I had driven for about 4 hours through wintry (and occasionally treacherous, according to Radio 4) road conditions. Had been disappointed by the closure of Stonehenge. To arrive at Woodhenge about 30 minutes before sunset.
As I arrived, the only other two visitors were departing. So it was just me and the sacred site. I asked some prelim questions and it was confirmed that the time and place and conditions were right for my meeting with (and merging with) my Energetic Double, a rather frightening and exciting prospect.
Preparations
I dowsed for the best place to do this work and was directed to the far (from the entrance) end of the circle, almost the most closest to the sun.
I asked what was required and it was crystals but no incense, and something else. Did I have it with me? No, Was it near here? Yes. I asked the rods to take me to the place where this extra ingredient could be found and I was taken to my car. Exploring the various items in my car I came to a smooth stone that I had picked up on my travels some place, this stone seemed to fit the bill.
But still there was something else, again I followed the rods, this time they took me to a bush growing by the side of the circle. Was I to take something from this bush? Yes, so I pulled a small twig with some berries on it off the bush and all the elements for the ceremony where fulfilled.
As directed by the rods I placed the crystals and the stone as shown in the pictures here.
I was ready, as I looked up from my work I saw that the moon (2 days of full) was resplendent in the eastern sky. The sun was her companion in the western sky. The scene seemed complete.
I dowsed for where to stand and it was between where I had laid the crystals and the post next to it on the circumference of the circle. Facing the sun.
I stood there looking out at the sun and in my mind recalling the song, that was uniquely me, I sent the music out into the world and waited for, whatever would happen. After a few minutes of nothing I recalled that I should protect myself from the direct gaze of my Energetic Double and although I didn’t think of it at the time I had placed it, I connected with the smooth stone that I had placed on the other post. Just as I had done when I learned about this kind of protection at Arbor Low.
As soon as I had put this extra connection in place I felt a change in the atmosphere. Things were looking up. The silence and stillness of the place was really magical in its “presence”. With the sun before me and the moon behind me. I could just feel that magic was happening.
It came like a wind, as if being hit by a cushion of air on my whole body and I was knocked back a couple of steps. I wasn’t winded but I think that if I hadn’t put the extra (smooth stone) protection in it would have been a lot worse.
I felt like the ready brek kid. It was like having a coating of energy around my body. Actually that’s no accurate. It was like having my body filled with energy and it projecting outwards a few inches.
I had never felt anything like it before it was neither a good nor bad feeling. I stood there for a little longer taking in the sunlight and the energy sense. Then I go an urge to finish up fast, really fast. I turned around and was surprised to see that the whole eastern sky had massive grey snow clouds gathering. Wow it was an awesome sight considering only minutes before it was clear.
Again feeling the need to rush I picked up my stone and crystals and was stopped. Things needed to be left behind. What? All the rose quartz crystals bar one, the berries from the bush. Where were they to be left? The rods carried me to this bush on the adjacent side of the circle. I dashed over and was told to bury them in the ground. Ice cold, frozen ground…Okay…
This done. I hastily said a thank you and got to my car just as I felt the snow on my cheeks.
Self-Healing
Fortunately the A303 is almost directly an East-West road and so as I drove into the setting sun the snow clouds were always in the rear-view mirror.
It was a surreal journey back, with watching the road for patches of ice and feeling the energy being pushed out of me continuously. I am sure that it should have taken me longer to return home and yet I can’t even recall much of the return journey.
When I got back to my rooms, I wanted to test my healing abilities, had it worked? I was tentative in trying, what if it hadn’t? I began my healing visualisation and it was slow at first, but then I got past the previous stumbling block and slowly but surely made it through the blocks and was channeling the energy like I had done for years.

Quest for merging with Energetic Double part 1 of 2
This post is going to be an ongoing one as I am in the middle of the tale so to speak and would like to try and record it as it progresses rather at the end. Let’ see how it works…
My meditations at the Hurlers revealed to me that it was most definitely time (and indeed a necessity) for me to be merged, reunited (er whatever) with my energetic double.
In previous experiences I had gained the knowledge of how to call it and how to protect myself from some of the more dangerous effects of its energy.
15th December 2010 ~ Rose Quartz
I thought it was time I figured out if I needed anything on this quest. I wondered if my supplies of esotoria were sufficient…a curious thought in and of itself as I have never thought to ask such a question before.
As it happened there was something missing…I asked whether I had sufficient incense? Yes. How about crystals? No. O, What did I need? I went through some crystal names and came up with Rose Quartz, how many? Seven! Even as I determined the answer a thought came to me, I knew where I could get some crystals, here out in the middle of Devon.
A couple of weeks ago I did some map dowsing and was directed down some side streets to a little shop that sold arcana, including crystals, excellent!
I visited the shop during my lunch time and as I walked around it I realised that the guy was woefully short on Rose Quartz, seriously! He had 6 rose quartz crystals, six! I stuck my hands into my pocket in frustration and felt something in them…I had forgotten, I had one rose quartz crystal myself. Perfect!
16th December 2010 ~ Gathering of the watchers
I was wandering through the local town Barnstaple at lunch time when I felt the uncomfortable drag of energy from the mid-town church yard. I wasn’t falling for it of course and walked by the entrance. Then on my return up the street I felt it again and this time I got a intuitive nudge and quickly put some protection up and wandered into the energetic crowd.
It isn’t that bad a feeling I have to say, i’m just being a bit melodramatic perhaps. Anyway I wandered about the place wondering what “this” was all about. I didn’t need my dowsing rods to be led to a particular spot in the square.
I went over and sat down, awaiting any thoughts, feelings or communication. And I got it…”We want to come with you?”
What? Who and what wants to come with me, and where for that matter? Then I got, it the Energetic Shrouds wanted to come with me when I merge with my double. Wow! Seriously! And how do I take you with me? In the crystals. Ok, Hop on in then.
Yes, it was that simple, no meditation, no ceremony, just “hop on in.”
18th December 2010 – Amazing
I awoke today and thought it was about 8am. It had snowed the night before but I had had an idea. Stonehenge! The place I could merge with my double…Stonehenge. I got up all excited and before anything else, I dowsed if this was the case, Yes!
Fantastic!
Not! I checked out of the window and the snow had done a number on the world. It was blanketed. Feeling a bit disappointed I got dressed all the while my mind was going… You can go, ok it might take you longer, but you could get there. That’s when the second shoe dropped…instead of it being 8am as I had thought when I finally looked at a clock it was 9:45. O boy! I have to say I havent been that far out with my waking up time in a long while, perhaps it was the xmas party last night…hmmm…
So, I was in a dilemma, Time was passing and the world was covered in a few inches of snow, should I take the risk and go on a 150 mile journey, when the radio 4 weather people were hailing the roads as “treacherous” and “travel only if you need to”
Does Edge Wizardry and reclaiming your energetic double count as a “need”?
As you know, being a one for signs and omens, I kept a weary eye out for anything meaningful. As I got changed my Rose Quartz crystal dropped out onto the wooden floor with a clatter.
Some signs are subtle, some you have to make up.
It was all I needed, I was off, the car was laden with about 3 inches (metric??) of snow that was fairly easy to be rid off, navigating out of the back streets? That was an entirely different matter. Phew!
I was off, with faith in my heart and food purchased from a garage (trademark Druidic practice). The Sat Nav was telling me 2 hours and 50 minutes to Stonehenge, I laughed…in this weather!
Ice, snow and ultra careful drivers were out in force today, even when the road was wet – above freezing people. Anyway I had got to the M5 some 50 miles from where I live and had stopped to clear all the junk of the windscreen (the water squirters had frozen) when a thought came to me…
Side note: I just thought, where do these thoughts come from? When we say “a thought came to me”?
Anyway, a thought came to me, I needed to go someplace to prepare first? Seriously! In this weather…I pulled my rods out of the car and asked, did I? Yes, could I do without? No. Could I prep at Stonehenge? No. As we say in England “Buggah”.
It was freezing cold as I pondered where I could go to do this prep. Glastonbury was on the way-ish, would Glastonbury be suitable? No. Bugg…
The another thought occurred (?) what about Avebury, would there do? Yes, o yes. I got in the car and Miss SatNav told me it would be some 2 hours to Avebury. Whatever! Lets go! So it was off to Avebury first, in the snow, on (Radio4) treacherous roads.
Avebury
Suprisingly the M5 (55 miles) was completely cleared of snow (thank the gritters) and even more suprisingly the M4 (30 miles) was completely clear thus I was doing excellent time.
Did I mention that Stonehenge closes at 4pm in the winter…Yes English Heritage come along and fold it up and put it away for the night!
So I was excited as I pulled of the M4 and the sat nav was reporting another 25 miles or so. Excellent! Not, the road off the M4 was as Radio4 would say, treacherous. There was only me on it for a fair few miles, but I was doing 20 to 45 depending on the ice and in some bits it was 10 miles too. Phew! Still after following a truly annoying tractor for a couple of miles. I had arrived, Avebury.
What is with the British and snow? The carpark for Avebury was closed? What! and all the streets had a “Don’t Park here or else” warning. So I just drove out a bit an slid (literally) into the side of a field, that is going to be fun to get out of.
Avebury had a few people wandering around the stones, not enough to cause a Edge Wizard problems. I walked amongst the stones for a while, acquainting myself with the Genius Loci. It is a lovely place, very welcoming. But I had business to attend to and as my Latin teach would say, Tempus Fugit!
So I dowsed to be taken to the best spot for me to prepare for my merging. It was along an odd path indeed, it was in and out of each stone, but doing a circle around each of them. People watched as I dowsed this dance amongst the stones and ending up at a missing stone marker, around which the rods just spiralled me in (quite dizzy infact).
So I questioned? Seriously? Here? When I have all these wonderful stones to play with? Yes. Who am I to argue? So I asked if crystals were required? No, Incense? Yes, 3 sticks…fortunately there was no wind at all and I was able to light them without even looking for cover.
Nothing seemed to be required for preparation other than to stand before this non-descript marker. I did so for some moments, but did not feel any different. I checked as to whether I had done the pre-requisits and the answer was yes.
As I stepped away a thought occured to me, was the walking in and around the stones part of my initiation? Yes…Ah…
I then went around the stones taking in there awesome size and feel as well as there beauty in the abundant snow. Then mindful of time I was off for Stonehenge.
Mishap
I programmed the Miss Sat Nav for West Amesbury and was off. It started out fairly well and the roads had been gritted and then Lady Sat Nav took me down a country lane and I was slowed to around 20mph. A few miles later she had me going down even more untreated roads and I was down to a meager 10mph and then almost innevitably it happened…
I was going one way and two cars were coming the other, the road was barely passable and I tapped the break and went into a gentle, dare I say graceful slide. Which ended in me facing the fields perpendicular to the road. Lovely.
A few revs of the tires made me realise that that wasn’t going to work. Fortunately the other two car drivers assisted and I was off on way, if a little more cautious.
By the Sat Nav it should have taken me 40 minutes to Stonehenge, however it was looking more like 90 minutes. So I had time to ponder things. The slide for example…of course on any other day I wouldnt have given it another thought, but on pilgrimages, as we have noticed so many times, the smallest thing should be pondered…so I did, ponder I mean. But alas the meaning, if any, escaped me and finally I was on a clear road.
As I drove along I felt a tug off to my left and looked up just to flash by a brown sign…Woodhenge. Gwas and I had been there the last time we went to Stonehenge and felt its strong energies. This time though Tempus was well and truly fugiting and I needed to be places.
The A303 is a blessed road as it gives a wonderful view of Stonehenge. From a distance the circle looks like play toys stacked up and you have to get real close to appreciate there magnitude.
Alas, although there were about a dozen cars parked up on the road outside the heritage centre. Due to the weather the staff hadn’t turned up and…Stonehenge was closed!
Closed! I couldn’t believe it. I went over to one of the guards and she told me that they were indeed closed and thus “No Entry!”
I was gutted and paced along the road pondering this state of affairs. Other travellers were equally frustrated at this prohibition and were venting their displeasure.
Guerrilla dowsing were two words that sprang to mind and I eyed the fields surrounding the henge. It was about an hour to sunset, but the white snow would make me quite visible, unless I came from completely the other side and tried to keep the Henge between me and any garda, all the whilst watching for patrolling ones.
What would be the penalty of breaking into a heritage site? Hmmm I walked about 4 miles around the fields that surrounded the henge and considered the options…I reckoned that if I was lucky I could probably get close enough to find a suitable place to do my Energy Work. I had light blue clothing on and so that would provide some camouflage.
As I planned this entree, another “thought” occurred to me…what about Woodhenge? Would the sister site be suitable for my quest? I asked the rods, Yes. Are you sure? Yes, Would it be as good as Stonehenge? No, but suitable.
Taking a last rueful glance at the Henge I was off for Woodhenge. As I made my way back along the road I had just driven down I wondered if the mishap earlier and the “pull” of Woodhenge were connected, perhaps that was what I was being told?
Woodhenge
Evidenced by the snow, the half-mile side road up to Woodhenge was almost virgin in its snow covering. I was the second car in the park and the other couple were already heading towards theirs.
So, it was me and Woodhenge, perfect.
And in the next post we will see what Magic occurred at this wonderful site

Knowth – Part 2: a guide to power centres
Sunday 30th May - Knowth, County Meath
This is the fourth of my posts about the journey through the seven chakras. In this post Kal and I returned to Knowth to exclusively dowse it for a purpose this time – for me to find out whether I could work on my heart chakra. This was a necessity, according to the previous day’s work at Kells. You may remember that my spirit guide had helped me to clear me solar plexus chakra and that I had gained insight that the next chakra would be the most important to unblock or empower.
The Neptune gateway and the Carlanstown stone
I’m really miffed now that I didn’t take a picture of the stone that I retrieved from the Carlanstown Spring. I’ve never seen anything like it before or since, and it’s green-flecked appearance is an image that is now only accessible in my memory banks. Sorry I can’t provide you with more than this vague description. As a former geology student I ought to be able to be more specific, but I have forgotten more than I will even learn again, and now even an educated guess would be far out. It was some form of igneous rock, if that helps? Obviously not.
We started at the timber circle, me with the green-flecked stone in one hand, and a quartz crystal in the other. Ask me not why this was so, for the answer shall be, I don’t know! It felt right. It also felt right for me to walk into the timber circle from the entrance closest to the main mound (the gap closest to the mound in the picture above). Despite having stones in my hand I needed to quickly check some things and got my iPhone out to use the Starwalk app to find out where stars and constellations were positioned at that moment. I was standing in the power centre (where Kal’s stood in the picture) facing the entrance to the timber circle. Which stars or planets aligned with this entrance….why, Neptune of course! The planet associated with the gods of water. Ever after the green stone became known as The Neptune Stone.
Standing in the timber circle I began a process of cleansing and clearing – removing the detritus of this world, the energetic rubbish that we all accumulate around us by passing through strong electromagnetic signals and other energetic influences that we pass through and by during our normal day. Luckily, if you live in the country or in Ireland there is much less ‘stuff’ to accumulate! The ritual is similar to the kind of purification rituals performed by druid types of my ilk who perform group rituals and the like. For me, it is a purely energetic cleansing. For some, they prefer to include a physical cleansing involving some form of washing in spring water or bathing. Whatever floats your candle, and lights your incense.
One of the things I found interesting was to find that, in each of the sensory-deprivation chambers the initiate would have to spend three days. The best three days for the process would be the three days of the Full Moon in each month.
Mapping the Transformation Sites
Having got myself attuned to the Knowth site again, cleansed and powered-up I wandered back over the Kal who had been off dowsing around while I was ‘dallying’. I had asked the dowsing rods to take me to a place that had an energy form that I had not encountered before. A big ask, possibly, but I remained hopeful. As we passed each other Kal said cryptically, “Interesting energies there.” and pointed to a small raised grass embankment shaped like a teardrop. I registered his words but was busy following my primary objective – to go to a place with a new energy quality or form. The rods continued on their wavy course and took me round to the very place that Kal had nodded to. Damn him! He’s always right! I’ll cover what I found in sequence with the rest of the parts of the Knowth site because it fits better in context.
At the place that Kal had pointed to I found some cool stuff to do with attuning the heart chakra. Following on from this I went around the site finding which other parts of the site could be used for which chakras. There was a centre of a particular place and type of space for each chakra, but the heart chakra seemed to be the strongest.
In this next section I will show you what I think each of the unusual parts of the site might have been used for in terms of The Initiate and their spiritual transformation process.
